Homewood Suites Int. Dr. ****

I spent 2 nights at the Homewoods Suites and it was GREAT!! The Breakfast wasn't cooked to order but had the usual donuts along with cook your own waffles, heat your own french toast and bagels and an always ready pot of Decaf or regular coffee in the lobby that I saw at all times. The suites were nice, clean and big enough for all you get in one. The best time I had was getting a kick out of the Hotel Manager. Penny Brown (yup 1 tenth of a dollar she would always say) was so hopefully but loved to play with her employees. The staff at the desk were young but VERY on top of things and Penny loved to tease them along with the Door Man Carlos.

So if you go there ask for Penny if need be and the housekeeping staff were professional. I didn't even know this one woman was one since she looked like a security person with the walkie talkie and attire.

Glad to hear Homewood Suites is GREAT. Am staying there in July/August 2001 with husband and kids aged 13 and 11 and am impressed so far. They sent me a really nice friendly response when I emailed them with a couple of questions. All the same, I'd love to know what other people who have stayed there think. Is there somewhere to have a beer? Does it get very busy around the pool? How frequent is the theme park transportation - we dont want to have to take the car everyday. I'm so excited and any information I get is really appreciated!

International Drive is a VERY!! busy street with a lot of Restaurants and Hotels and attractions. I am not sure on the transportation times since I didn't need it haven't a friend who drove us who lived in the area. I think they said it was like 3 times in the morning and 3 times in the evening but call and they will let ya know.

As for getting a beer there is a steak house right near the street opening to the Hotel that I would think would serve and also there is a Alcohol store just on the other side of that opening at the corner. We did Karaoke down the street and also ate at Ronnie's Steak house down the way that had drinks and live music. Well lets say my friends had NO!!!! problem getting blasted. I was the non drinker so designated driver.

We were gone most of the day time so not sure about how busy the pool was during the day. It closes at 10:00 at the High Schoolers that were there for some kind of function were hopping over the fence to use the hot tub. We didn't say anything since they didn't hurt anything but other then that I never did see anyone in it. It's not real big and is crowded in by all sides with the rooms looking over it.
