Yesterday I reserved a 2 bedroom at Saratoga for 9/21-9/25 (3 nights). I had told my friends that we needed to book a lot earlier but no one listened to me.
Saratoga is not our first choice. I am contemplating cancelling that reservation and doing Two - one night waitlists.
Ideally I would like to stay at Copper Creek, maybe savanna view at Kidani. I am little hesitant on Kidani because of the construction on the villas.
Right now there is one of the three night available at Copper Creek. Should I reserve that one night and waitlist the others? There is also one other night available at Boulder Ridge. Kidani had one night available last night in a lock off, but that was gone this morning. BLT has one night in a Preferred view and another in a theme park view - however that would be more points and I am already borrowing points for this trip. There are five of us - three adults and two kids (ages 6 and 2). It is the 2 year old's birthday (he will be three in October). Suggestions and advice would be greatly appreciated.

First, the Kidani refurb work isn't scheduled to start until October. So shouldn't have an issue with construction noise. Those Kidani 2BR are really nice, as the have the third bathroom. As for the waitlists, make sure you match up the length/date of the waitlist with a current reservation. If you could perhaps change 3 nights at SSR to 2 nights and 1 night, then waitlist the 1 night - up to 2 waitlists allowed (which might be what you're describing and I misread it!).

Absolute worst case is you keep the 3 nights at SSR and enjoy your stay. It's not our favorite place to stay, but it's certainly nice for 3 nights. Even if you set up a couple waitlists, keep looking and stalking options. Sometimes you can find something you want before they notify you about a waitlist coming through - that's not ideal, but it does work. Good luck! Have a nice trip!

I am already borrowing points for this trip
If you are already borrowing, pick the two other categories you would like that have the largest number of rooms, and waitlist those for the full 3 nights. If you need a 2BR, waitlist dedicated options, because those don't require two different rooms to come open at the same time.

So, if it were me, and based on what you've written, I would use one waitlist on a Kidani 2BR dedicated Savannah view, and one on a CCV 2BR dedicated.

I would only do the night-by-night thing if you had the extra points to hold two of the three nights without cancelling SSR, and since you are already borrowing, you do not.

I have a 3 night dedicated 2 br at Kidani and CCV on waitlist. So I should just leave it the way it is and cross my fingers? Yeah I don't have the points to play around with multiple reservations. Unfortunately I planned other vacations and didn't expect my friends to last minute want to do this trip. And yes I am being way too nice using all my points for this trip.

Just FYI, CCV is scheduled to be under renovation from May to September. Hopefully they finish on time, but if they don't...

I think the waitlists you have right now are the best option. But, keep checking because something else for 3 nights might show up that you can’t waitlist.
