Homeward Bound

I bought some impatients and petunias
hot pink and white

and planted them in my two tier planter that sits on the deck

I had some white petunias left over
so I planted just them in a planter, too.

Then I did a bit of weeding
and now my back hurts! Go figure!
I used to be able to do many more jobs than that
and never feel an ache........

I sympathize with you on that one!

DD's are out playing with neighbors
I still have two more mom's day presents from DD10

she has loved the gift giving as much as getting presents herself!

That's so nice to hear!! DD is a generous gal!
How exciting!!

DH says we have grackle or grackel in our yard

look like black birds to me

I've never heard of grackle before so I looked it up:

They look similar to some of the birds that we have in our yard, too.

Today it seems like I am missing everybody.

I've never heard of grackle before so I looked it up:

They look similar to some of the birds that we have in our yard, too.

Did you notice its phylum? DS has ten examples now, no need to take in a live bird , thank goodness!
they are a scary looking bird, up close in the wiki picture!

and wisely chose the "forever" ones
I didn't realize postage was about to go up!

DD10 got bit by the neighbor's dog, just before dinner!

The neighbors have three rather territorial dogs
but DD10 has never been scared of them.
THey have invisible fence, but the dogs do run to the edge of it
and bark at you if you walk on the sidewalk
actually even when I get into or out of my van they start barking
like I am in their area.......

DD10 went to the door to ask if their child was home to play
she was with another friend
who is scared of the dogs
and wouldn't go out of our yard when DD10 went to their door



the dog jumped on DD10 and bit her twice, on the back and on the butt
DD10 screamed hysterically, of course

the neighbor adult came and tried to calm DD10
and got the dog off her

but DD10 came running home

I gave DD10 tylenol
and ice packs

and washed the wounds with soap and water
they have both broken the skin just a bit
are more like blood blisters than bleeding wounds

she sat and cried for awhile with ice
but has now gone back to playing (inside) with the original friend and neighbor

the adult neighbor called to apologize
DH is having none of it

the three dogs are somewhat of a pack
and everyone is a bit leery of them

DH just told the neighbor (at our accidental fire)
that his dogs were a problem

DH called the police.

and the police responded in minutes (local guy, second day on the job)

he made notes
said he would contact the animal control officer


DH has seen the dogs attack another dog
and the neighbors own child needed stitches from one of the dogs on Easter
(we aren't sure which dog bit him)

the police said they had no other complaints
the problem is, everyone has been"neighborly" and not reported issues....

DD10 is okay
she is probably going to be afraid of dogs
definitely afraid of these particular dogs

she will heal and doesn't need stitches
the dogs have had their shots

that's not good that he is bit another time
that dog will keep on biting if not controlled

If it were me I wouldn't be so neighborly if something like that happened to me or my family I would of done the same thing.
