Homeschool

I go to private school. It's safe, clean, and focuses on the four main subjects we need to focus on: Math, English, Social Studies, and Science. Electives "just for fun" won't get you anywhere.

wow, im sorry to say but i'd HATE to go there. Electives stretch your mind and help you think outside of the box. If you only focus on a minority of topics, you wont be able to analyse as fully. When i was at GCSE (ages 14-16) i took English lang, English Lit, Maths, Science, French, Drama, Child Development, ICT, History plus Religious Studies and Citizenship (which we weren't examined on). These were just a few of the options i could of done (although everyone had to do English, Maths and Science) When i got older (17-18) i specialised (History, Drama, Psychology and Sociology). This meant i got a broader view of life than sticking to just the 'basics' to get by. Plus i went to a state school, this isnt the private stuff!

By electives just for fun I mean electives that won't get you anywhere. We have PE, Computers, different sciences clubs, a lab, drama club, enviromental club....etc.
Math, Social Studies, English, and Science are split up into groups.

I have been a public school girl all my life from K-12(this year). The last two years have been quite different but I really like having my school friends. I don't particularly like school but I like the social part of it.:lmao: l

just a hint.

electives will end up being what your jobs are.

math and science and stuff, other than the basics is the stuff you're probably never ever going to use in the real world.

That is so true. I really want to be a chef someday and my food classes are the ones that I am learning from.

I don't think so. I love my school, and I would do great when I get older. Like I said before, we do have electives.

I was almost homeschooled freshmen year. I came really close to booking a role on Broadway (It was a childrens ensemble role). If I had ended up getting the role, homeschool would have been my only option. Since I would have to get my equity card, and was over 14, professional theatre would have been my life from there on out.

I ended up getting to the final call-back, but not booking.

I am at a very selective, very demanding private school. (And yes we have electives, I am taking a second Lit class as my elective. It compares novels to there film adaptations. Since I want to go into the arts in college, I think this is a good educational/fun elective)

I did an online school the past two years and now I go to a public hs. I loved being home last year but I really love being in public school this year.

I'm homeschooled. This is my first year. And i seriously love it., it is so much better that school! Well to me it is anyway! I don't just lie around. I mean i wake up at like 9 and start. Then take a break at noon when our local news comes on, then me and my mom watches our soap operas =]. Then after that I get started again! I only take 4 classes a semester. Now I'm taking French 1. Algebra 1. World Geography. and Art 1. After our Christmas break we start over, with four more. I do a my Algebra and World Geo. in textbooks, and my mom makes the test. Then my art and French I do on printouts from enchantedlearning.com. I do alot of my French on a program I have for my computer. But I have so much more freedom, then i would normally have. Hopefully I'll be done by 16 or 17 and I'll be ready to start my college classes. Yay:goodvibes !

I still dont understand you.
I am doing History at Uni, which was an elective at my school. Does that mean that i wont get anywhere with it?
I did less 'academic' subjects to get into Uni, but i am still here, have high grades and am proud of what i have done. Doing just maths and science )unless you want to be a doctor or engineer) will not take you everywhere in life. You need to show you are an all rounded individual!

Been going to the same school since kindergarten. It is a private school which serves Kindergarten through 12th grade. It is kinda weird because the same Kindergarten teacher is there when I was in Kindergarten. I an now in the 12th grade.

I've been homeschooled for seventeen years and am still very lazy about getting work done. :\
