Do any of you do homemade shirts for your trip? I would love to make something for the kids but I am not artistic at all....so they would have to be simple.

I've made several. I just buy the iron on copy paper at a craft store like Michael's or office supply store. Then download cool pics and print them off and iron them on. If you go to the CreativeDISigns board at the bottom of the main page there a lot of wonderful ideas, and many of the people on there will even customize their designs for you with names and such. There are even instructions that will help you do a beautiful job.:thumbsup2

I have made shirts for my boys for their last two trips and probably will for this one too :)

i always laugh at those people that wear the same shirts, i am always tempted though to make shirts for my group that says "im with stupid shirts" and have arrows pointing left, right, and up:lmao::lmao:

There is a technique called the Abstract Mickey Mouse design that I've used for family t shirts over the years. Get some plain white t shirts, either 50/50 or 100% cotton. Throw them through the washer and dryer. Cut a large piece of cardboard for each shirt, and use it to separate the layers, and lie flat. Use some bowls, and using either a washable felt pen, or some of the kids chalk, draw a large circle and 2 smaller ones to make a mickey mouse head. Get some washable glue, and starting at the bottom use the glue to make a spiral design on the big circle. Then do the same for the ears. Let this dry for at least a day, as it needs to be dry to start the next step. While the glue is drying go to a craft store, and pickup some Tulip fabric spray dye's in the pump bottles. You will need 2 co-ordinating colours. First spray the middle with the first colour in the middle, then spray the second colour around the outside of the first, making sure that the colours overlap a little. Have fun, and don't worry if they are not perfect. Let them dry for a couple of days, then remove the cardboard from the t shirts. You will have a lot of paper stuck to the t shirts, but remove it the best you can and throw all the shirt into the wash with detergent, and a 1/4 cup of vinegar to set the fabric paint. Turn inside out after washing, and rewash again to get out the remainder of the glue. Hope that you have fun no matter what kinds of shirts that you design.

Go to the Creative Disigns forum here on disboards. They have many artistic people that will mae you disigns and then you just have to print them on iron-on paper. I did this for our WDW trip they came out great!! And there are so many to choose from.

i could not resist the temptation, i just ordered 6 of these for my next trip!

We have been to WDW many times and almost everyone wears some type of Disney shirt. Group shirts are very common. We went to Disneyland this week and hardly anyone was wearing any Disney shirts much less group shirts. It was a little disappointing.

I don't wear special shirts, but I do get special shirts and outfits for my children. Mostly I order them from etsy.com Some of them I get custom made, but some of them I order the custom appliqued patches (for around $5-7 each) and then I iron those onto plain t-shirts so the shirts then look appliqued.

My boys are always in matching Disney shirts so I can spot them easily. A friend of mine went in a group with her mom, sister, daughter, brother and his fiance after the brother's trip overseas with the army. They all had shirts that said :"Captain Shaw's Girls" on the front (he's an army captain) and his nickname for each of them on their back. It was super cute and they just used iron on letters.

nice photo carlos!!!

i like to make my own shirts

just all me marth stewart of the disboards

I agree!! We did this for our trip last fall and will do it again for our WDW trip. Some even have blank ones and I just add the names I need via photobucket and save them some work.

I just go to the online disney store or outlet and make up tshirts and sweatshirts. Something is always on sale.

Here is a link for kids:

I ordered sweatshirts and 2 different tshirts for kids and it was really inexpensive if you don't have time to do it yourself. You can pick the character and then put on names. Some of the stuff lets you write more than just a name. They just had a sale for free personalization and that comes every few months. I picked lime green shirts for the girls and they are very bright! I picked each kids favorite character and did their names in the Disney letters so they look enough alike but a bit different. I also got them red sweatshirts and purple shirts with names and characters. They came very quickly, within a week. I am happy with them and didn't have to do the work myself!

On our last trip a year ago...I made t-shirts as well with a printable iron-on transfer paper. Was really fun, really easy, and didn't cost me much.

We used to do matching shirts each trip until we started making sooo many trips. :)

The best shirts I saw our last trip were bright blue and they were drawings done by the kiddos of them w/Mickey Mouse. Too cute.

i am currenlty doing 5 matching shirts.. all with a mickey mouse head on them in pink and decked in rhinestones.. totally girly..totally nerdy!
