Homemade Play Dough recipes anyone?

My DD (2) just said to me "I'm angry, need to squish some play dough"
We are all out of play dough and I really don't want to go out tonight to get any. Anyone have any homemade recipes?

corn starch and water (add enough to make the mixture wet but not soupy) make a neat paste that my DD loves to play with. Have her play in the sink though because it's messy.

This is the one I send out at the beginning of the school year. I am a preschool teacher.

You can add food coloring or unsweetened kool-aid and it will smell good as well.


Play Dough

2 C flour
1 C salt
1/3 C cream of tarter
2 T oil
2 C warm water

Mix together in a pot. Heat, stirring constantly until the dough “cleans” the side of the pan. Remove from heat. Turn out onto counter and knead until cool. Store in an airtight container.

We always added a cool aid mix to this to give it different colors as well.
