I know it is August, but since starting at the museum I have made some great friends in my co-workers and would love to get a jump start on their Christmas gifts. I do not want to spend a lot, but I am looking for something crafty and cute. Suggestions?

How about a set of about 10 notecards with their intials on it?

Or you could make a simple mini album- maybe using Christmasy paper (unless some of them don't celebrate then a different paper for them).

The notepad holders Susan (123SA) made for teach last year looked great and I don't think cost much. You would just have to search teacher gifts under the creative community and the thread should come up.

How about the gifts in a quart jar -- cookies, cakes, soups? You can google "gifts in a jar" and come up with recipes.

post it note holders. I made these for the teachers last year and they were a big hit.

Anyone got any ideas for cheap but cute family gifts? I have a 75 yo, 50 yo, 11 yo, and a 10 yo to craft for. I would also like something simple for my coworkers (a holiday thing prehaps?) but these need to not so christmas themed (we have jewish, indian, and native american (she celebrates solstice) people)

OMG! I'm so doing the sweet treats (sundae/swiss roll) for my DD, mom and my sister!!!! I'll look at more tomorrow and start my list!!!

Aren't they adorable?! My plan is to get the glassware at Goodwill during half-off day. As far as the filler, I am not too sure. I looked at Oriental Trading the other day, but no scarves. I guess I will have to wait until closer to Christmas. Maybe I can find them for dirt cheap on Black Friday!

Check out the dollar tree ~~~ they had gorgeous fleece ones last year.. we bought them to wear when we would sled..and my kids loved them so much they wore them to school and all the girls wanted to know where PJ bought them...

I was going to look at the dollar tree for the sundae type glasses too....

I love making Christmas ornaments for people. A few years ago I bought some round ornaments but they were flat (if that makes sense). I stamped a snowman stamp on transparencies, cut it into a circle, colored it, rolled it up and put it inside the ornament, where it unrolled. The effect was floating snowmen inside the ornament. They were very well received.

I have also done stone tile coasters. They are maybe $5.99 at Menards for 12 of them. I stamped a set of 2 for every "family" in my family, making them for about $20. After I stamped the scene, I used watercolor markers to color them. I wrapped a ribbon around 2 of them with a homemade tag.

Good luck!
