Homemade BBQ sauce in glass jars packed in luggage ok on plane?

I want to bring my friends some homemade BBQ sauce when I visit them in Vegas. I have it already made and packed in Ball jars. If I put it in my luggage, should that be ok? As far as getting past security.

To a hotel? I have PLENTY of bubble wrap to keep them safe.

It will be fine. The airport won't bat an eyelash as long as you check your bag. Bringing it on the plane, that would be a problem.....

I would put the glass jar inside a ziplock bag in case it would break, then wrap in bubble wrap and put in my checked luggage. What do you have to lose? worth a shot.

I traveled home from my honeymoon with 5 bottles of wine in my checked luggage and everything was fine. Use bubble wrap and make sure everything is secure - i.e., no wiggle room in the suitcase - and you'll be fine.

We fly internationally with food in suitcases often. I've brought homemade salsa in glass canning jars often, and Pace Picante We never have used bubble wrap, just wrap it in long pants, etc and tuck in the middle of the suitcase. We have never had anything break and we change planes a minimum of 3 times. I always put them in a zip-lock and then in a plastic grocery bag, just in case. A neighbor did have an unfortuante Pace Picante incadent, it wasn't wrapped in plastic and they ended up throwing away the suitcase! I had a plastic bag of guinea pig food pop open one time, there is still crumbs in that suitcase!

You should be fine.
