Homemade AUTOGRAPH books! Heres mine, lets see Yours :)

plain t-shirt. We buy my son a t-shirt and take along permanent magic markers and a Needle point ring and have all the characters and CMs he likes sign it. After the trip he not only has all the autographs, but a cool show and tell item that reminds him of the vacation every time he wears it.
:thumbsup2

Once you get there, it's very self-explanatory. Feel free to PM me, though, if you have any questions. :thumbsup2

Sorry...forgot to add the attachment. Jes....can you tell me how you did this? I've not done this before and don't even know where to start. How do you get your pictures into Snapfish or Shutterfly? I have some items saved in Photobucket also. I am taking my mother, niece (13), and 4 yr old granddaughter the end of September and she would love an autograph book like yours! Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks....

Sure...

1. Set up Snapfish/Shutterfly/etc. account.
2. Go to "Upload pictures" (or "add new pictures," etc., depending in the site), and you can create an album (title it "Autograph Book" or something so you can keep all your pictures in the right album).
3. A window pops up, and you have to find the pictures on your computer (mine are under "pictures" and then I have a folder for each month, then subfolders for each event within that month)
4. Select all the photos you want in your book.
5. Click "Upload" (or "add these photos," etc.)
6. Once your photos are uploaded, find the section of the site (often "store"), and find the area for photo books.
7. Choose the type of book you want to make (there will be descriptions), and it will give you directions from there.

Photobucket does have a photo book if you'd rather use them since you have pictures there.

Have fun!! Let me know if you have any more questions. :)

P.S. We'll be there in late September, too (26-4), so maybe we'll see your book in action!

I LOVE these handmade autograph books! I don't have a clue on where to even BEGIN making one. Or making one that looks 1/2 way decent. Anyone out there willing to make 2 books for me? I'll buy them off of you....just let me know how much. HELP????????????? Just thought I'd ask......:rolleyes1

I made some autograph books for my friends grandkids who went to WDW in June. She said the characters loved seeing their pages. Aladdin wanted to draw a mustache on Jasmine, so the little girl was chasing him around trying to get her book back!!! And King Louie was jealous that Baloo could sign his page, so he took the book in the back with him and signed it!!! I have never known King Louie to sign. So, the books were a big success.

Money can't exchange hands between DISers, but look at Etsy. I've seen some fun scrap-ish books there. :thumbsup2

Hey Guys...

I wanted to share my autograph book with you that I made for our son's first WDW trip...he LOVED it and we had so much fun finding all the characters!! It was a blast.

The pages are all on my blog...please check it out and leave me some comments there.

ENJOY!!!

How did you have the characters sign the pages? Did you pull them out of the protective coverings and have them sign on a clip board? Did you have your pages assembled ahead of time or do that after you got the autographs?

I just want to add that I just LOVE the photo book idea as an autograph book! So brillant!

I just made a World Passport for my DD. She's "so over" the Kidcot masks and we've done the store bought Passport so this was a fun idea. I added a photo of each country and a page with the name of the country and a place for the CM to sign and stamp the book.

Next up - a character book. I figure it can be a "work in progress" and if I make it with as many as the characters that can realistically be found, we can use it for years.

Thanks for getting my creative juices going!!

Walgreens had their photo books on sale a couple weeks ago, and I made passports for DS and DNiece. I used their previous WS pics. I love them!! I am a little jealous, actually. I may have to make one for myself. Anyway, these will be part of the "lesson plan" for the week, and it's something they can take back to their classes to show what they learned at WDW. :teacher:

posh*tots* resale, Here's the quick list of the pages I made: Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Goofy, Donald, Chip and Dale, Fairy Godmother, Lady Tremaine, Anastasia and Drizella, Cinderella, Aurora, Snow White, Belle, Jasmine, Ariel, Pocahontas, Rafiki, Mary Poppins, Buzz and Woody, Carl, Dug, Russell, Prince Caspian, Pooh, Eeyore, Tigger, Piglet (but he was only at Crystal Palace when we went), Aladdin, Genie, Alice, Mulan, 3 fairy pages (we weren't sure about who we would see, so we just made a fairy page), and generics for four parks. The princesses and Fab Five we saw at character dinners, so we knew for sure that we would meet them - the others we just committed to going and finding them.

The ones we didn't have pages for but met anyways were Pinocchio, Wendy and Peter, Captain Hook, Mr. Smee, Mr. Penguin, the Sheriff from Robin Hood, Gideon, Frozone, Mr. and Mrs. Incredible, Jiminy Cricket, Flik, Baloo, and Terk. Some others that were out that we decided not to wait for were Meeko and Gepetto. I'm pretty sure that all of these guys were ones that we could have made pages for - as in we had a high chance of seeing them if were willing to wait. I hope this list helps you!

hpgirl500: I forgot to ask you one more question....

Could you PLEASE tell me how/where you got the borders for some of the pages you show. Such as: Tigger border, EPCOT border, the pink Anastasia border, Red Minnie Border. I can't seem to find anything FREE online. I found a bunch of DISNEY CLIP ART but no borders. HELP?? Do you use a special program? Any help would be greatly appreciated. What is your cover made out of? :confused3

I just used some of my mycokereward points and ordered two photobooks from snapfish. yay!!! I'm making one for each of my older daughters (the youngest is two) and will order them together so the shipping is the same price. Awesome!

my hubby will be gone all this week, so I will have plenty of time to sit down and make them. I'm so excited! I have my pictures all picked out already.

Woohoo!!

Here are some great places to get pages for people who aren't creative:

Natalie's cards:

Penny's cards:

They both have threads in the Creative DISigns section. They will make you personalized covers, too, if you need. Check out their threads.

STORMER: Ok...I am pretty computer savvy but when it comes to this...UMMMM....well...I'm trying to figure this all out. I LOVE Natalie's designs for her 2010 Autograph Book. Now....question...the link you show me is to have the prints printed out via PHOTOBUCKET??? There is no way to copy them to print them out on my own cardstock correct? I just don't want a glossy looking "picture" for the character to sign. WHat you posted is EXACTLY what I am looking for. I'm just trying to figure out how I use them.

Just save the images to your own computer, then you can do whatever you want with them. :thumbsup2

Yes, you can just click on each card so you see the highest resolution image and then right cick and save and print. I think I may have a file saved where you can downlaod them all at once. I am not positive. I am on my DS laptop now but will check my computer in the morning and let you know.

Here is another thread with a lot of pointers: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2026049

I have the 2008 autograph book as oner big download, but not the 2010 one.

Does anyone have an opinion as to which autograph book I should attempt to make? Does anyone have 1st hand experience as to which one worked better for them? Either way, after I make my decision, I will have the autograph books bound BEFORE we leave on the trip:

1. Should I make all the pages as 4 x 6 MATTE photos & then mount them onto scrapbooking paper which will then be put into a bound album to be brought on the trip. CONS: Harder time getting signatures for characters who "STAMP" their signatures such as BUZZ. Takes time going to MICHAELS & purchasing & cutting all the paper.

2. Should I make my own pages on cardstock & print them at home. Then have the pages bound at KINKO's before we leave. CONS: Use a lot of my own ink, in case in rains.....the pages can get wet & the ink can "run". OH NO!
