Homemade AUTOGRAPH books! Heres mine, lets see Yours :)

We have done personalized autograph books in the past. I love the idea of the digital one. I think that is what we're going to do this year.

I've seen these for years, but have never done them because I thought it'd be too much work. For our first trip, we got a small photo book and put a picture on one side and the signature card (we used large blank index cards) on the other - pretty easy! But I still have the next trip's worth of cards sitting in my scrapbooking area...and we went in 2007! Last trip, we just bought a little blue book, but it's no where near as much fun. I think I'm going to have to do this...DH just informed me that Walgreens has a 50% off sale on their photobooks until Wednesday.... :)

Thanks to all of you, I think I'll make my DD her very first autograph book. I found some great 3-d stickers on clearance at Target, and plan to use blank 4*6 index cards for the pages, maybe foam sheets for the covers. But the rings mystify me -- where can one find them? I know someone said Staples and Target, but specifically where? And how do you get them onto the pages without ruining the paper? I saw some rings at Wal-Mart yesterday, but they were like keyrings (where you have to hold the wires apart and slide the object onto it). Seems like even sturdy paper would be ruined...

Also, I've never done the autograph thing before -- if you have a book that's made with just rings holding it together, do you need to bring something to rest it against for the character to sign? Doesn't seem like it would be very easy for them to hold and sign.

(Mickey is for my kids to share, the princesses for my sister's kids to share.) We figured the characters wouldn't be too happy about signing 5 books for one family, so we went with two.

I love all these homemade autograph books. I'm still pondering what we'll do for my crew.

I figured that my kids each deserved to have that memento from the trip. My girls, especially, share so much, it's rare for them to have something to call their own. What's the difference to the character if it's 5 kids from 5 families or 5 kids from 1 family? Doesn't each child deserve to feel special? Just my cents.

I do understand that it might cause hard feeling to other families that are waiting. And we intend to keep our kids moving. But I really think we'll be getting autograph books for each of our children.

I made books for my sister and I (plus our two cousins) when we went a few weeks ago. They were made using a bunch of digital scrapbooking pages and elements that I found free online, plus clip art. Then I printed them out on blank 4x6 index cards and had them bound at Office Depot. I made pages for all that characters that I was sure we were going to see (and we only missed 3!) and made several sets of generic pages for each park, and an even more generic celebrating page (seen in the last picture). Opposite from each page, I left a big white hole in the frame so that a picture would fit.

The step-sisters really liked their pages - Drizella shrieked when she saws here, and Anastasia went on the whole time about how good she looked and the sparkles on the page.

Thanks! We were going for a scrapbookish feel with them. It was hard not to be inspired after seeing other people's books on some of the other boards here :goodvibes

WOW - wonderful autograph books everyone!

Malibelle - where did you get the graphics for your covers? I really like the design of the cover and think I could possibly manage to do something like that (I'm the LEAST creative person you've ever met ....). Did you download some clip art and fonts? HELP!

Love all the autograph books. My daughter made some and had them bound at Staples or Office Max for $5.00 a book.

Just made some at home today! Not sure how to post pictures, though, so I can't show them to you =(

This is an awsome idea and doesn't seem TOO difficult for someone non-crafty like myself. Approx how much does it cost to have Staples/Office Depot bind it up like that?

I would love to do an autograph book for my granddaughter but have no idea how to begin! How do I get the information from photobucket to snapfish or shutterfly? How do I add my pics? I'm so totally loss and I thought I knew my way around these things! Any help you can give me would be very much appreciated. I just LOVE your book!

Thanks!
