I could hardly wait for the film to be developed. I was at a DISmeet in Chicago while DS James attended his first homecoming dance. James is in 9th grade and this was not only his first homecoming, but it was his first date as well. He asked out a girl in the junior class who just happens to share our same last name. He thought that it would be convenient. That shows his bizarre sense of humor. Anyway, DW Sue took a couple of pictures. The theme of the homecoming dance had something to do with Alaska, so Maddie and James decided to dress in tropical clothing. I suppose her sense of humor is just as twisted as James'.

John, they're not showing. All I see are red x's.

Those are great pictures John!!! Looks like they both have a great sense of humor!

:teeth:
That is too funy...the tropical look for an Alaska theme.
Whoa James, an older woman for the first date
Did they have as much fun as it looks like they were going to? That girl is just beaming in those pics! ;)

thnaks for sharing TC and Sue!

Great pictures, John....James looks like he was having a great time....

I love this, they both have great smiles and I'll bet they had a lot of fun :)

Great photos, John

James spent a lot of time with Maddie before homecoming, but they haven't gone out once since the dance. I think that James' humor might have been a bit over the top for her. Afterall, it was his first date. I think that she's hanging out with another freshman guy right now. And James is "down" with that. He takes a very laid back approach to the whole dating thing. He figures that 9th grade is way too early to be getting serious.

He went to a church retreat this weekend and one of the girls in his class asked James to keep an eye on her boyfriend. She wanted him to make sure that this other boy didn't have an affair while at Youth Jam. James just rolled his eyes at her. I hope that both of my kids keep a healthy attitude about relationships and just try to have fun while they are kids. There will be plenty of time for drama later.

Thanks for sharing these great pics, John!

I can't imagine where he gets his sense of humor from:rolleyes:   ;)

Great pictures, John, and funny too. Great smiles and they look like having a great time.

But he still thinks we are weird, eh?? :teeth:

LOL great stuff.

Good idea - hold the drama.

Really enjoyed the pictures. Actually, I think he is a chip off the old block.

What a great attitude to have at his age. They do look like they are having fun in the pictures. He is a cutie :) and how lucky can a guy get...a freshman out with a junior on his first date??? What a great story to tell his son's when he is older ;)

Great pics! Your son sounds like a cool guy to me. Tell him not to change. :D

James better watch the hand of his, I think he is going to try and grab her breast

:earseek:

Thanks Jason. I knew that I could count on you to put your unique spin on this thread. :)
