Homecomin' ADR - can I call? Any tips?

Ugh - had beautiful ADRs all done at 180 days. The Disney announced MNSSHP dates and messed up my plans. Anyway, trying to rearrange my Homecomin' day for our Aug trip but have been having an impossible time with only 3:30pm reservations available with my large group. I have 7-9ppl coming so most of my reservations are made for 9ppl. Back at 180 days, I found the following restrictions for large groups:
- no ADRs for over 9ppl; max of 8 ppl accepted
- no ADRs past 6pm so I booked 5:55pm.

Of course, this makes it super hard for me to get an ADR because I only want something between 5:30 and 6pm AND for a table of 8.

I know for some Disney Springs places u can call the restaurant directly - what's the scoop on Homecomin'?

Homecomin' is not a restaurant with direct call or Open Table.

Unfortunately it's not one of those restaurants and can only be made through Disney dining.

But I suggest setting up a res finder through touring plans and mouse dining. People cancel all the time.

Maybe try for two tables of 4 even.

This is what we did for our party of 8. 2 groups of 4 at 5:50 and 5:55. Now to hope they can seat us together!

I got fed up with it all and ended up switching to a lunch reservation. And even then, could only book for noon for a party of 8.
