We've had a local/regional security provider for years and like them, but our current cell signal wireless system is being phased out and to replace it with the newer model with same features they want $200. So I figured I'd shop around a little. We currently pay them $43 after all taxes and fees to monitor with the cell signal and an iPhone app so we can control it anywhere, which we want to keep as it is very handy.

Any recommendations? Northeast Florida, btw, so if they aren't a national service or at least Florida/Southeast it won't help much. Thanks!

I am having my system replaced tomorrow. As long as I agree to pay $39.99 a month for monitoring (with a landline, $10 a month more with cellular) for at least 2 years, the system is free.

With all the companies that I got bids from that is the the norm, they just try to lure in in by throwing in features for free. Extra key pad, extra remotes. This is a basic perimeter system with glass breakage and motion sensors. No web cams, or smoke detectors, or thermostat controls. Those are all extra cost options. I would shop around.

I've had Vivint for years. It was Apex, but they changed the name weren't bought out. It was a cell system as well and I paid 39.99 a month with a 2 or 3 year contract. My mom just renewed her contract and they lowered her monthly rate to the 39.99. I think she was paying 49.99.

They have great customer service. I think they have an App but I don't have a new enough system for it, I haven't upgraded it.

Wow, we have a great deal I guess. We have a local company and only pay 19.95 a month for the monitoring through the landline. If we want to switch to cellular, the monthly fee stays the same, but we do have to spend several hundred dollars for the equipment.

Well, changed my mind and used the cellular hookup instead of the landline. Only way we could get the panel where we wanted it. Phone jacks were too far away.

So $10 more a month, no extra up front cost. Plus you can control the alarm from your smart phone that way, and it emails you everytime someone turns the alarm on and off

Has anyone dealt with Simplisafe at all? How is their customer service? And how is their response time (if you ever had your alarm go off)?
I'm seriously debating trying them out, but before I buy the system, wanted to see if anyone had any experience with them?

I would also like to know if anyone has experience with Simplisafe. Our current contract will be up next month and we are looking for other options.

We have Simplisafe. My husband said it was easy to install. So far, so good! We only pay $15 a month for monitoring.

Have you had your alarm go off (false or otherwise) and how fast did they respond?

I messed up and set it off once when entering the house (had some other distractions in the driveway and did not enter the code immediately upon unlocking the door). It took about 2 minutes for the alarm company to call my cell. I had to give them a password so they knew it was really me.

My husband has set it off in test mode several times, the monitoring company calls within 2 minutes.

Have not had any random false alarms so far.
