If you like to switch up resorts (I do, that is why I bought) you could buy enough SSR points for a 1 bed, AND have money left over. compared to buying Copper Creek or Poly direct . 1 beds have much more availability at 7 months than studios. I keep a close eye on this, and generally end first week Jan to penultimate week Sept, want a 1 bed you can book anywhere. Book dead on 7 months and even in busy periods you often have a decent choice at 7 months. Studios go very quick and are often difficult to get, albeit not impossible by any means in the quieter months. This year I booked studios at both Poly and AKL on 6 months. For 7 months hence now, I can get a 1 bed anywhere in WDW in Feb, but not a studio everywhere (many restrictions). You will pay more dues with this method (double points) but Copper Creek dues are 50% higher than SSR anyway, and you could grab a studio when available at 7 months and rent excess points which will cover roughly twice the dues cost and offset dues in other years when you are taking the 1 bed. And of course, you get to stay in a 1 bed, which is a different experience to a studio- once tried with a family you will not want to go back.
