Home resort booking window - a right or a privilege?

Just looked at Bluegreen and they say VIP status doesn't form part of the contract and can be taken away at any time. I still think it's different. The contract with DVC gives membership to the club, DVD do not say it isn't part of the contract and can be taken away. Agree it's all woolly, but I still can't see that DVC could differentiate between owners. Anyway let's wait and see. If in 5 years they haven't done it, I'll say it's because they cannot. I've placed a date in the diary to reopen this thread.
They haven't done it so far but I don't think it's because they can't and won't in 5 yrs either. It isn't contractual with BG but I can still get on the wait list as much as 4 months ahead of most owners and thus get a reservation that many can't get.

Taking away that privilege diminishes the value to the potential buyer of a DVC direct from Disney as it would make the points worth less if the buyer wishes to sell in the future. Since the DVC would depreciate so much more on the resale market it would diminish the retail price. At the end of the day Disney has the right of first refusal. The easiest thing for them to do if they want to discourage resale is buy up anything that they feel is below market value and then start selling those resorts again. I don't understand why Disney doesn't do this more often in the first place. For what I see resale sell for Disney can buy these points for a huge discount and turn around and sell them at full retail.

Disney should also have a campaign where we can sell back our points at anytime for a set price. Lets say I want to make things easy and sell my AKL points back to them and they are offering $78 a point that I can do directly through my dashboard. I think the last I checked they were still selling points for $155 there just a few months ago. That's a pretty big flip and they don't even have to build new resorts.
