I am a new member to DVC. We just passed ROFR and should be receiving our closing paperwork anyday now. We originally had planned on vacationing once a year to once every 18 months, but that may change. If I add on points at a different resort does it change my ability to book earlier at that resort? More specifically if I bought at AKV and I buy a BWV contract can I now book at either location 11 months out or only AKV. Just wondering so I can decide in the future whether location or price will be more important. Thanks in advance.

You will be able to book AKV 11 months out with the points you just bought. If you buy at a different resort, you will have the 11 month window for that resort. If you want to combine your points (even if you just want to transfer 1-2 extra points), you will need to wait for the 7 month window, because you only get the 11 month advantage on the home resort. But, if you want to use each one individually for different trips in the same year, you have the 11 month booknig window for the points you own at each resort.

Your AKV points will have the 11 month advantage at AKV and your BWV points would have the 11 month window at BWV. At 7 months you could use points from both resorts at any DVC.

as the others have said: if you buy 1000 AKV pts and then add on a 25 pt BLT contract, then you have 1000 pts each year that can be used to book AKV at 11 months out...and 25 pts each year that can be used to book BLT at 11 months out.

naturally, you can bank 25 BLT pts in 2011, and then book a stay at BLT at 11 months out using up to 75 BLT pts using 25 banked BLT pts + 25 current 2012 BLT pts and 25 borrowed BLT pts from 2013...but your 1000 AKV pts can only be used to book BLT at 7 months (and vice versa.)
