Home rentals over holiday

We are looking at renting a house after christmas next year, maybe Dec 30 2011-Jan 6 . I did a quick search and found some rated from 150-300+ for 4 bedroom homes. Any suggestions? Is is resonable to see prices less than 150/night? Or is those prices "getting what you pay for" prices?

It will be 4 adults and 6 kids

I don't think you're going to be able to find a 4 bedroom for less than $150/night during the Holiday season. That season generally gets high rates. I would be very leary if you find a 4 bedroom less than $150/night.
I would suggest Windsor Hills Resort - it's a great resort, only 1.5 miles away from Disney.

Anything is possible....

Some owners will discount their rates as soon as Jan1 has come and gone.

So, premium rates for the couple of nights over NYE, the reduced rates.

Here's my couple of pennies:
There are TONS of great WDW STR neighbourhoods.
Where you choose depends on what your vacation style is.

Just want a place to sleep?
Gone all day, and all evening?
Just need the W/D and kitchen and "late open" pool (ie, private and your own), and don't mind a bit of a drive??

Look a little further "out".
A less fabulously equipped home may very well fall into your budget.
Mind you, there are some AMAZING homes that little bit out that could be at the top of anyone's budget.

Want to be as close as possible?
Need all the fun stuff?
Be prepared to pay for it.

Keeping in mind as well, that there are some bare bones rentals in those neighbourhoods too....and may charge the location premium price.

Start with your needs list.
Location?
Budget?
4/3...need a heated pool? Want it hot? Or take a chance with electric? Spa? Hot tub?
King size beds?
Twins?

Then make a wants list.
Internet? Calling? Games room? Flat screens? BBQs? Books, movies, toys???Baby equipment? Strollers? Bikes? Golf???

We are renting this house http://www.villatflorida.com/ for this Christmas and it sleeps 10. There are only 4 of us but we wanted to be able to roam around and not find anyone . We liked the fact that it is a gated community (most are) and the pool/spa is very private (no one behind or on the one side) There price is reasonable but it is in Haines City which is not right in Disney. We did not mind this as we plan on going to see other areas of Florida not just Disney.

hey there..we are currently renting at Terra Verde a 6 bedroom house. 1300 for 10days, but you could go smaller and cheaper. Highly recommmend here. It is quiet safe and gated community. Close to everything....good luck!

And great rate on your home rental...for everyone else reading this, don't forget, the first 2 weeks of December generally are considered a lower season by WDW standards, and there can be some real deals - obviously!! - to be had.

That's going to be a tough rate, for that size property, to find the first 10 days in July

I'm not sure about location etc... to rent. And what size do you get? I like the idea of having some room, so we aren't always in each others face. Were good friends, but you know what I mean. I was looking for a 4 bedroom house, but not sure of the location. I see tons, and tons of rentals when I do searches. We will need infant stuff besides that not sure what else we absolutely need. Two or more bathrooms would be nice, but won't really need a pool being December. A hot tub would be nice, but not needed.

Any suggestions or recs? Are we fooling ourselves looking for less than 100/night?
