Hey guys-
We're planning a Main Street USA themed reception here at home in TN before we head down to WDW for our Disneymoon.

So far, for a Main Street, we're thinking a simple flower, small American flag and maybe a vintage Disney toy on a cakeplate in the middle of each table (8 or 10). For the favors, we're planning a popcorn bar with some candies to mix in.
We're doing a pretty low key DIY wedding (as to save for that honeymoon!) and was wondering if you all have any other ideas that would fit this theme for the reception?

Thanks so much!

I really think music can go a long way here to help your theme.

And some inexpensive cute signs in old fashioned writing could mark things for guests as well as set the tone. Think the windows in the shops.

Do you have the room in your budget/location for a few park benches?

Each table could have a theme like fire station, train station, city hall, etc. I like the pp´s suggestion about signs. If you have any high school band students, enlist them to play or have someone organize kids/pets into a little parade.

You all have some good ideas....I've been hard at work on the music already & have decided we're going to have "Married Life" from Up as our recessional song since it was playing non stop it seemed in the MK when we were there for our engagement trip.

I love the idea of the benches & I'm thinking maybe we can get a small one and do a photobooth type area with it...that'd be super cute.

Using the different shops as table themes- now that's genius! It'd be so easy to find goodies that represent the shops/buildings with what we already own & maybe just add a little bit to it....we're doing a church wedding with the reception in the fellowship hall,so it's a pretty blank canvas and decently sized.

Thinking about putting the cake in the back of the room so it's the 'weenie' when you walk in & also seeing about the attraction posters on the walls as you walk into the room, just like you're going thru the tunnels...now to get this all written down on paper!

Thanks for these great ideas & keep em coming!

I was thinking of a sweets table - you could have fudge ( inexpensive to make at home if needed ), cotton candy ( I think you can find this in bulk pre-made ), rice crispy treats ( you can make fairly inexpensively and shape like Mickey ), cookies, candied apples ( again these can be made in advance ).

If you have someone artsy they can make the table cloth to resemble one of the sweets shops if you have photos.

And speaking of photos - here's another thought - white table cloth with photos of you two at Disney scattered around. Preferrably with glass or plexi-glass over them to protect the photos.

Ooh I like it- especially the photos under the glass...cute idea..you better believe we've got a ton of photos in the parks to share!

You could have different tables like the shops in order. A flag table at the front with a sign in and table numbers, and lots of flowers in a circle like the flag pole. Then a "hat store", "movie theater", "candy store"' "ice cream", " the emporium". Each center piece for each table could represent the stores. The should make there way towards a sweetheart table with a glass slipper and blue and white flowers. Put the cake towards the back as well, or theme the cake with awnings like the train station or the scrollwork from the railings. Striped table cloths, and old fashion window like programs.

I know someone already mentioned music, but I just wanted to let you know you can buy the Main Street theme music on iTunes for 99 cents. It might be fun to play as guests enter the reception.
