So we haven't gotten a home newspaper delivery for awhile, but since I've been doing more coupons lately, I'm thinking I want to try again. So, my questions are:
1. Do you get a daily delivery or Sunday only?
2. If you do Sunday only, what do you do about Thanksgiving?
3. How much do you pay for Sunday only?
A local paper has it for $1.50/week, or $2.38 Fri-Sun
Another one is $19.99/20 weeks Sun only or $19.99/16 wks fri-sun
My dollar store carries them, but Sunday mornings are always a bit crazy!

Thanks for your help!

I'd try calling the newspaper and see what they have to offer over the phone. We started delivery after we moved and they gave us the daily paper for the cost of Sunday. Last year, my mom didn't remember getting the bill, and thus, never paid for it, and it was canceled. When she called to pay the bill and resume the subscription, they offered her 45% off. YMMV, but I think its worth a shot!

As a newspaper carrier (by the way, a fantastic way to earn extra money for SAHM or SAHD - I make about $900 a month and Christmas tips rock!), I would call the circulation department of your paper. With so many people viewing papers online, papers are looking for ways to keep circulation up and will offer you a deal. Also, if you do auto payment, the rate is less as well.

I get our paper Thursday to Sunday so I get the Sunday ads. I have it automatically deducted from my bank account.

Prices really vary depending upon where you live. I receive the paper daily and pay $5.82 per month which is automatically deducted from my account. We usually only read the Sunday paper.....DH does the crossword puzzle each day....and sometimes DD needs an article for school.....but it was cheaper to receive the paper weekly rather than just the weekend papers.

If you do Sunday only, what do you do about Thanksgiving?

We get the paper on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. They give me Wednesday free. When I called to subscribe I asked about holidays. She told me you can add holidays to your subscription. They will deliver the paper on all major holidays. I would ask if they could do the same thing.

We get auto payment for our newspaper too. Cutting down our newspaper subscription is one of the things I would like to do--but--there's a "green" issue here too. Our city recently implement Green Recycling for compostable household waste. You really need liners for the kitchen-sized compost container, and the commercially-available liners are pricey, but I can make them from my old newspapers. Darned if you do, and darned if you don't.

I get 2 papers daily. The Washington Post is $15.12 for 8 weeks and the local paper is $42 a year. I much prefer the local paper but it doesn't have all the ads so I stick with the Post. In the past when I've gotten Sunday only, they've always delivered the holiday paper for free.

Our newspaper offers the deal for $50 for the whole year, 7 days a week. There were other options available, but that was the best deal going. They've been doing this for about three years now.

The Kansas City Star prices have really sky rocketed. I used to get really good deals. I cut it to just Thursday - Sunday, then to Sunday only because the price went up. I'll have to drive to the store on Thanksgiving to buy my paper this year.:sad2:

It was cheaper for me to get Thursday-Sunday delivery than Sunday only. :confused3 So that is what we do here. I have it on auto-pay, and it runs me $4.50 a month.
