This was inspired by the Home Goods clearance thread. TJX has opened Home Sense stores and quite a few of them in my area. They carry all the same merchandise as Home Goods so I REALLY do not get the concept. Some of the ones near me are literally with in sight of the Home Goods. They were advertising over the pa in Home Goods that you should visit Home Sense. Again, the prices are the same and this whole thing seems redundant. Does anyone know why TJX did this? I just do not get it. I know that they have combined some Home Goods with Marshalls and TJ's but there are still lots of stand alone Home Goods.

found this with google search But Homesense is all about furnishings and decor, whereas HomeGoods has a little something for every room in the house. For example, if you want to refresh your bedroom, best bet would be to shop HomeGoods for your linens and Homesense for a headboard.Apr 18, 2019

Months ago before lockdown I was in home goods and they were advertising a new home sense store nearby. The cashier told me that home sense carries larger quantities of furniture. Like a home goods store might get two of a certain style of chair, while the home sense store would have a dozen of the same chair in stock. She also said home sense carries lighting fixtures.
I haven’t been back to home goods yet but now I want to go!

Thanks for the info but it is a very fine line. If you go to either you will not see a difference and as for the furniture, I do not think they have all that much more than Home Goods.

That's interesting. We have Home Sense here in Canada (it's been here for several years) but not Home Goods. Now we also have Marshalls which is EXACTLY like Winners. And sometimes those two stores will be in the same plaza as well. Bizarre lol.

A brief description: "HomeSense is a Canadian chain of discount home furnishing stores owned by TJX Companies. It originated in Canada in 2001, and was expanded to Europe in 2008 and the United States in 2017. Outside of the United States, the chain is comparable to the TJX-owned HomeGoods."

Oh, I went to a HomeSense in Victoria last Dec. It's very much like a Home Goods and Winners is just like Marshalls. I got an xmas gift there a couple years ago when I went up to Vancouver for the day. I'd hope to have been able to go up for a weekend again this year...

Around me HomeSense is not nearly as nice as HomeGoods. They are six stores apart from each other in the same shopping center. The HomeSense is brand new.

I love Home Sense. They have a very large selection of hanging lights and lamps, twice as many rugs as Homegoods, and lots of decor items. Homegoods is great for sheets, bathroom stuff, candles.

We were told Home Sense should have ability to buy 4 matching chairs, for example, or a table and chairs that are matching. Home goods more often has one of a kind stuff. I got bedroom furniture once at a Home Goods though, was lucky to get 3 pieces of same collection.

All I know is that they are all fun!😁. I need to stay out of all of them, but Marshall’s is always calling me to come visit.😊

I was at Home Goods last night. There was barely any furniture. Marshalls was next door. They usually are a few small pieces of furniture and pillows, bedding, etc. No furniture, very little home stuff/pillows/etc. Mainly clothes and shoes
