Home-based Businesses?

We are definitely not part of scholastic... in fact in many regards, they are our competition. Usborne however, feels so passionately about bringing quality books to children, that we allow Scholastic to "borrow" the rights to a few titles a month and produce them

OK ... Scholastic doesn't borrow anything. Usborne gets paid for each book sold. There's nothing "holier than though" about Usborne. All publishing companies are there to make money.

Softcover versus hardcover has nothing to do with the quality of the product inside, and to imply that "poor" people can only afford softcovers is dreadful.

????
I never once said that "poor" people can only afford softcovers!!!

WOW.. I am sorry if I offended!

Bottom line is, they are great books. Whether original versions, or the publishing right versions available through Scholastic.

I recently began running a home-based business called CFP Web Consulting. It is under the parent company, MA Webcenters. I basically set up appts with small business owners who want to increase their web presence. A Web Specialist with our company walks the business owner through a free demo of a website created for their company. The Web Specialist also does the selling. All I have to do is make the appts with business owners. The best thing is that I don't even have to leave my house to do it. The retail profit is also pretty substantial. It can be anywhere from $500-$2000 per website sold. Our company also operates in Canada, Mexico, and Puerto Rico. Check out my website for more info: www.CFPWebConsulting.com and if you have any questions, send me an e-mail to the address found on the website. I'd be happy to answer any questions. It really is a great job for someone who wants to stay home and work approx. 2-10 hrs a week and earn a full time salary.

I do Passion Parties and LOVE it!! I have been in the biz almost 4 years now, am paid an extra $400 per month "car bonus" and enjoy my 40% discount

http://www.durhamdiva.com

What was the start up fee? Small kit is about $250 and the bigger one $390 with shipping and taxes included

What are your committments/quotas? Do you have to have so many parties a month? $600 in sales every 6 months, considering my average party is higher than that - it's not hard to keep active!

What kind of money do you make doing it? 40%, so on a $500 party you make about $150 after expenses (hostess gift, catalogues, order forms) still not bad for 2 hours work!!

Is it easy, hard, time consuming? Very simple, our products sell themselves - women come to shop! Plus we don't just have "toys" we have massage and a bath line too!

Any other pros/cons to it? Pros: lots of fun, easy to do, can sell out of the catalogue, parties are easy to book, shop @ 40% discount for you, customers or people you know

Cons: not spending all your profit on personal items

I absolutely love it, I used to run a full time home daycare and now Passion Parties is my JOB - I work minimal hours and make over $3000 per month
