Holy Waitlist Batman!!!!!!!!!

Okay - so I know getting on a waitlist is stressful. But it WORKS!!

Two trips ago, our BCV WL came through at exactly 7 days out.

Last trip, we waitlisted into everything we wanted and ended up getting our last three days at BCV about 3 weeks before we left.

We leave for our next trip tomorrow and waitlisted the last four nights at either VWL or BCV. This morning, on a lark, I checked our reservation and lo and behold:

WL came through for VWL!! With 8 days to go.

I was so excited I had to come here and post to people who understand - so if you have to waitlist and you can hold out until the 7 day window, do it - it WORKS!!

I believe they can only hold them open up until then. I don't know if they do a sweep for matches or something at 7 days before it closes...it seems odd (but great!) that we got ours 7-8 days out twice now.

FWIW, MS told me that I could waitlist (I was reserving at the 5 month mark) until 31 days out. At 31 days out, I would need to call and tell them I'd like to stay on the waitlist. At 1 week out, he said that I should call early in the morning and check daily if my request had not come through. Though we didn't discuss it in detail, he implied there was no waitlist at the 7-day mark.

Both times we've gotten it at 7/8 days, I've had to specifically tell MS that I want it held that long. I think that bypassed the call at 31 days.

Good info that you can still call daily after that.
