I have always thought the new C-tower would look terrible. BUT whether you buy CRV points or not, you're gonna be looking at the thing if you go to the MK. I think it would be better to look out FROM IT.

I hope this design is a ruse and a smokescreen to hide the fact they are doing something actually tasteful and inspiring. I cling to the hope that Disney would hire architects and designers with at least the same minimal amt of aesthetic sense I have.

To me it is a view of the MK.

And when I stood on my 10th floor balcony overlooking the MK I never even saw the parking lot. This is what I saw:

When my cousin got married at Disney's wedding pavillion I was so disappointed that the castle was so far away.

Yes, the view of the water was nice but the MK was so far off in the distance I could barely see it.

If you look at it from the inside out, instead of outside in, it improves.

Is that rooftop pic taken at the Contemporary? I've never heard of a rooftop pool at Disney!

The Boston Magazine "Best Of" edition would always award "Best View" to the Prudential Tower, as it was the only building in Boston from which you couldn't see the butt-ugly Prudential Tower.

As I tried to hint in a previous post, it is most definitely a mockup. To see the castle this close, the rooftop would have to be built on the pathway between Tomorrowland and Fantasyland. The current CR Tower is a full half mile from the castle, and the new tower will not be significantly closer.

You are definately right, after I looked at this real view from the existing cr, I realized there is no way, even using the best architectural perspective tricks, could they make the castle look so close. But hey, the above view is still CRAZY sweet and anything close to that from CRV would have me at the front of the line for points there!

A few months back I was reading some Contemporary DVC threads to catch up on my "gossip" and "rumors" about the resort. I have just spent a while trying to rediscover a thread I read months ago that had these two pictures in it (with no success of finding it). The first with the C tower was someone trying to figure what it would look like next to the A tower. People started sending in their own computer mock-up pictures of different "desired" DVC resorts. One was a computer mock-up of the Polly. It began to get quite humorous as each picture put itself closer to the MK or monorail. Finally, this picture of the roof-top next to the castle was created. I wish I could find that thread again to link all of you there. It was a good thread with some clever people contributing to it.

CRV will come eventually, as to whether anyone likes the way it looks, well it's kinda like the Swan and Dolphin. Some like it and some don't.

I could be wrong, but I suspect this photo was taken using a zoom of at least 2:1. Nothing wrong with that of course, and I don't deny the view from CRV will be sweet. But I think some people would like to know what they can expect to see from their balcony with the naked eye.

Ha, I should explain better I guess. I really didn't think anyone would believe there is currently a high rise with a pool on top in the MK but it did come out sorta real looking I guess. I only kept the pic from about a year ago when I tried to blend a hotel rooftop pool with the castle in the back ground. Actually to recommend a quiet pool be built on top of CRV. Sorry to make it look better than what is possible.

I've been known to be extremely gullible, so unfortunately it doesn't take much to pull one over on me. Don't apologize; it's all in fun....and, as you thought, no one could POSSIBLY believe..............

In terms of Swan and Dolphin, they are architectiarly interesting and imaginative. No one has compared them to the Watergate building. I am not convinced that this is actually the design for the new building at CR which may or may not be a DVC resort. I hope that it is, and I hope that it looks more like the existing resort with an even better view of the MK.
