It still looks to me like the one side of the "c" will have significant views of the old tower, unless those aren't guest rooms on that side.

you are correct. the new tower will definitely have views of the old tower.

but the opposite isn't true.

the new tower was placed so that no view of the old tower has of bay lake would be hurt.

it is NOT in the same place that the North wing was.

the North wing - part of it was underneath the tower - none of the new tower will be in the way of the old tower.

the new pool is shaped like mickey mouse.

my DB says there were 2 pools. but I think the other one is just a very big hot tub.

It won't be that big. go find 'nobody' link to see the real size of it. She has taken pictures pretty often.

It will only have 300 to 400 villa. the number I have seem is 350 villa. so much smaller than OKW, SSR, AKV, BWV - I think the same side as BCV?

that say so far no word on what it will be. It could also be what the plans for the building say - (current plans not what is on the internet) - Contemporary Suites.

Now I hope not - I want a DVC CR really bad. but if Disney decided to go with suites - will still go to Disney.

Or it could be a combination - both suites and DVC villa.

I don't read posts about things, villa or tropics that I don't like. So finding it hard why so many people here feel the need to slam the CR.

Would feel reading something that I didn't like a waste of my time.

I don't understand some of the posts. The artist's rendering is EXACTLY what I would have expected based on the simpler aerial view drawings that have been available for months.

The artist took a close-up, ground-up viewpoint with the existing tower in the background which greatly exaggerates the size of the new tower. Once you take that perspective into account the new tower is the same height as the old and smaller overall, I'm not saying that I like or dislike it, just that it should be no surprise to those who have been following this story.

I agree with you. From the perspective of the first photo, you can tell the size of the new tower is exaggerated. I mean just look at the angle. But to me it really looks like its the same size as the CR tower, at least height-wise. I think I'll just wait to see it in person before I draw the conclusion that it diminishes the views from inside the MK. JMHO

Wow another DVC within park walking distance.

I wasn't planning on adding on any more points, but I wouldn't be surprised if it will be hard to get in there under the 11 and especially 7 month windows.

The CR isn't an "A", it's an upside-down "V"... so next will be a "D"

My thoughts exactly. I have been flamed before for saying this, but I'll say it again...I do not like that awful c-shaped thing! I LOVE the idea of DVC at the Contemp...a DVC on the monorail, a DVC with direct access to MK, a DVC with great views...all of these are wonderful! I am SURE they can also make it beautiful! (Yes, I know it is in the eye of the beholder...but as so many have said...this is just a Miami or ----insert any city name here--- HighRise.) Ugh.

Conflicted for sure...we all love MK and Epcot best, so this would be a great location for us to add on....but that exterior....do they have a vomiting smiley?

I'm glad to see they are building Contemporary Suites in the location formerly occupied by Tomorrowland Speedway. That ride was a waste of space! (And some people should not be allowed to use Photoshop! )

DVC has yet to make an ugly building. Now I have to admit that the CR is a problem - because they can't change the style.

hey I still want to change the outside of the CR. It can be done. Made it more modern with mirrors, slat, and some nice wood (okay fake wood). the architect here have done it. the building next to us was a cement slade - now it is a very nice building. So it can be done.

still I have faith that DVC will make a nice modern building and it will make CR look better.

to me VWL actually improved the appearance of WL, so did BCV improve BC.

but that is my opinion - your can be different.

To me it is a view of the MK.

And when I stood on my 10th floor balcony overlooking the MK I never even saw the parking lot. This is what I saw:

When my cousin got married at Disney's wedding pavillion I was so disappointed that the castle was so far away.

Yes, the view of the water was nice but the MK was so far off in the distance I could barely see it.
