HA! Made you look! its called MESSAGE BOARD BUTT! Seriously , i think ive been on these message boards for 24 hrs straight, its truly ADDICTIVE....warning!....but alas, I still have a million more questions...for instance......

is there any disadvantage to staying at the swan or dolphin, other than the logistics thing? ..........Is Coronado Springs considered on-site? ok, thats enough...LOL too tired to think of the other questions , thanks for any help
Mae :)

Going to WDW soon , okw for 2 nites, bwv for 2 nites (thanks to this board) and HRH , USF for one nite,,,,,,cant wait

Cornado Springs is as on-site as any resort. Swan and Dolphin is onsite but not run by Disney. You can get cheap rooms there if you/spouse is a teacher or nurse, and you get 50% off rooms if you have any entertainment card (about 25 bucks).
BTW, this should be on the resorts board

I stayed at the swan back in 2000. The only disadvantage I could see to staying there, is that it isn't really Disney themed. It is a convention hotel, so there was a lot of business people there. I didn't really see a lot of kids there. The only other disadvantage to staying there, is that the restaurants are quite expensive. I can remember paying over $5 for a small cup of coffee, and a danish.

I see you have just recently joined these DIS boards!!
WELCOME :D
If you think you have MBB.......wait a few years! I have been addicted since August 1999!!!!!! :jester:

Anyway to answer your question about S/D....since it is not Disney owned/opperated you cannot have charging privilages on your room card.
That along with the lack of true Disney theming....that is the only difference. You can still use the buses, free parking, early entry if it ever returns and E-ticket nights.
we've never stayed there, but my DD and SiL will be there in June. They got a great teacher's rate.
Coronado Springs is a convention resort also......and we have stayed there. I loved the theming there but DH hated the business atmosphere....too many people in suits with briefcases and cel phones walking around. Just too much like his real world.

Anytime you ask for an opinion on these boards, you'll receive a WIDE range of opinions. That's why they have to many different resorts, restuarants, parks, etc. I have yet to find one thing at Disney that everyone agees on.

That being said, we find the Dolphin has just as much, if not more themeing then most of the Disney resorts, especially those around the Epcot area.

As far as conventions, we've always found more "suits" at Contemporary and we've heard equal amounts of people stating that they've run into many conventioners at CSR. We found the amount of weddings/brides at the GF to be more of a problem for us. I'm sure we've just hit it right, but we've never seen many "suits" at Dolphin, but have seen a lot of kids.

As far as benefits, if you can get a great discount on S/D, most people agree that you should take that over a moderate any time. You just can't beat the location of the S/D. You can walk to Epcot, BW and MGM and the views from many of the rooms are the best.

I've heard of many fantastic things about CSR and would love to try it, but we get better rates at Dolphin, so we just can't pass it up.
