LADY KAT HAS FOUND HER SIMBA (Name Tag that is )

Holy Grails

1. Wilderness Lodge Facade, #633
2. Any pin from the Disney Villas (pre-Institute), circa 1994.

Just a note on diversity . . .

Luckily the range of pins available is enormous, and so diverse, that the appeal crosses many interests. But, I have to admit, that's what also makes it hard sometimes to understand why someone wants a particular pin -- especially if it has no personal appeal.

For instance, I have no interest in the jail scenes (of any color), nor in Mickey for President. Similarly, most of you may think that my holy grails are odd. (Just so you know -- These pins represent elements of our family trips to WDW.)

But, as my grandmother would have said, "That's what makes horse racing!" Or, to paraphrase, "That's what makes pin trading!"

:D

...the 'beauty' (or intrinsic value) of any particular pin truly is in the eye of the beholder......just ask my girls....At 8 and 13, there are pins in their 'meager' collections, which generally wouldn't particularly interest anyone else, but to them, they are 'gold'......they have many common character pins that are as dear to them as their few most 'valued' pins. I know this for certain, because every trip we make to the parks, I have them go through their collections and pick out the pins that they are agreeable to trading to use on the trip.....the 'tradable' pile gets smaller and smaller every time.....even though much (most?) of their collections consist of the most common pins, many of which are tied to specific memories that they have of favorite movies, or park visits...

But just so I don't get too far afield of the thread's topic, I'll have to check with the kids to see what they'd consider their 'holy grails'...I know for Taylor, it's anything Daisy Duck! Jordan's tastes at 13 are a bit more 'sophisticated'....I'll let her post her own holy grail list later.....

......in the meantime, although I'm neither pin collector nor trader, I'd *love* to have the Fantasia Flamingo pin......why?? Because I collect flamingos.......and I'm also sort of partial to Cruella DeVil......!!

My HGs (at the moment) would be:

Monorail Pilots Wings (Pinpics #1036)
Mickey Mouse Club Pins
4th of July Mickey at Epcot (2000)

Sure, I too would LOVE the HTF. I really would love the Caribbean Event Pin/Skeleton at the Ship's Wheel.
But realistically, I look more towards getting the April and May TDL calendar pins. Maybe soon... :D
Everything is available, at the right price. It just depends on what and/or how much you want to shell out.
