hollywood & vine?

i see its a buffet...is the food any good?

You are going to get tons of opinions from it was the worst meal I ever ate to it is one of our favorite character meals. :)

Some of the most recent threads are:
Hollywood & Vine - lunch

Hollywood & Vine Breakfast???

Play 'n Dine @ Hollywood & Vine

Remember to take it all with a grain of salt. Some people love it, some hate it we thought it was okay. There are some pictures from our trip and a few thoughts on the food Hollywood & Vine - Earning My Disney PhD if you want to see some plates of the food.

Hope this helps. :)

Honestly, it is disgusting. I'm pretty lenient with Disney dining, but this place is just terrible. Food tastes bad, desserts have no flavor, place is disgusting, etc. The food it has sounds good, but is executed poorly -- it's just gross. I don't know how they get away with it.

If you want TS in DHS, go with Sci-Fi or 50's Prime Time (or even Brown Derby if you can afford it).

While my view is not quite as negative as Johnny B's (not slamming his opinion by any means), we did not enjoy our meals there. We gave it the benefit of the doubt and went a second time-it was no better. In my opinion quite low on the buffet totem pole. Although I've heard that the character breakfast is popular.

If not trying for a F. package lunch or dinner, then I agree that you've got a better chance at a good meal by trying any of the other TS restaurants at DHS.

koolaidmoms was certainly right about the variety of strong opinions! :) We've eaten there several times, and we think it's perfectly fine. Not the best food we ever ate, but far from the worst. There is enough variety to satisfy most everyone, and I actually thought the desserts were good. I certainly wouldn't hesitate to suggest that someone at least give it a try and make their own judgement.

H & V is one of only 2 restaurants in all of WDW we won't return to EVER!!
The hot food was not hot, the cold food was not cold. The food quality was poor. We were surrounded by dirty, unbussed tables. The waitress was Rude - the only time this has ever happened to us at Disney.
The Ladies Room was filthy.
Never Again

We went for breakfast with our 6 and 4 yr olds a few weeks ago. Had the first reservations of the morning. It was fine. Our server was sweet, the food was just what you would expect - Mickey wafles, eggs, bacon, cut fruit, etc. Standard breakfast buffet fare. We found the restaurant to be clean and comfortable. Our kids loved seeing the characters. Best part is that we beat all the people lined up at rope drop and by 9:08 am (I checked the time) we had TSM fast passes and had my kids signed up to do Jedi Training. ;)

With all our meals at WDW, we go in with reasonable expectations. If I want spectacular eggs benedict, a mimosa in a crystal glass and decadent surroundings, I'll head somewhere special. For a pot of hot coffee, juice, waffles, eggs and bacon, H&V was fine. More than I would pay at Dennys for the same things, yes. But we didn't have to stand in line to see the characters in the heat later and we got a jump on the crowds so, IMO, that made it worth every penny.

I agree with the above poster. I don't think I am overly picky but it is the one resurant we will never return too. our server was nice but the food was just plain bad.

We've done dinner twice and we should have stopped after the first try. Absolutely the worse food, service, lack of cleanliness I have ever seen at a Disney restaurant. Food was lukewarm at best, trays often empty, tables and floor sticky, took 20 minutes to get a drink (and this was on both occasions). It is on the short list of Disney restaurants we will NEVER return to (the other being WCC).

We have eaten there several times. Not the best but certainly not disgusting. For a buffet, it wasn't bad. The salads were nice, fair selection of meats & vegetables & desserts. We had a nice waitress & the place was clean.

We had dinner here last year, this place was the worst. We left hungry!! Would not recommend to anyone and will never go back.

I know it gets really bad reviews here, but I had dinner there once with the Fantasmic package, and thought it was fine. Certainly not the best, but it was definatly not bad.

Not the best, but certainly not the worst.

You can definitely survive it if your kids are big Disney Jr. fans.
If they aren't, skip it.

yikes what happened to H&V,

last time was ate there was 2009 and we thought it was great.

I especailly liked the yogurt, granola, etc station.

Who dosen't like Mickey Waffles ?

We ate there the end of January and thought it was delicious. The dessert bar was one of the biggest ones of any buffet all week. And there was some chicken that my dh had at least four plates of. Asiago chicken maybe?

Also, the character interaction was the best of about 6 character meals we were at. They visited twice each and the kids had a chance to dance with them next to the buffet numberous times.

We didn't really enjoy the lunch, but we really like going there for breakfast - it is not too crowded, and the food is good.

We had dinner with the Fantasmic! package. The food was okay. I wouldn't say that it was really good but I liked it better than Chef Mickey's for the larger variety and I thought most of the food was better (except mashed potatoes). We've eaten at Golden Corral when I've thought it was pretty good and other times, I've thought it was pretty bad. It wasn't quite as good as Golden Corral on a good day but it was better than Golden Corral on a bad day. No one left hungry.

Our server was very abrupt and not friendly. My father in law has a theory that sometimes servers who aren't providing great service are having a bad day for some reason and maybe they need a bigger tip to help them turn around their bad day. I did not skimp on her tip and gave about 20%. Her attitude changed greatly and she thanked us and even offered to get us drinks to go. I wondered how well they are tipped there. I know some people don't tip as well at buffets. It made me think of all the employees who have to work at the happiest place on earth while everyone else is running around there on vacation. I think that would really get on my nerves after a while if people who were supposed to be there to have fun were rude to me or didn't leave tips, etc.

I had wanted to eat at the 50's Prime Time Cafe but the decor there just irritated me for some reason. H&V shares a bathroom with the PTC. I'm glad I stayed with the Fantasmic! package & didn't change to PTC.

We did the character breakfast here and it was great! Great character interaction, food was good (we are not big on buffets), everything was fresh and lots of choices for breakfast. Service was great! I would do it again, although when we go back in a few years, my kids will probably be out of the little einstien, handy manny, special agent oso phase...
