Hollywood & Vine

We've eaten there for the Fantasmic Package but we actually prefer the 50's Prime time, although we've never tried Mama Melrose' or The Brown Derby. Planning our trip for next year but haven't completely decided on our ADRs yet, at least not completely.

DW and I went there for dinner this past August for their Fantasmic Dining Package. We understand it's not V&A, but the food was plain horrible. There wasn't as much variety as most other buffets, and the meat was of shoddy quality and seemed to have the same flavor that just tasted off for some reason (may be it's due to the same sauce they use for everything). I obviously didn't eat much, but still felt a bit sick in the stomach afterwards.

Upon leaving, we overheard a family of 6-8 people wanting to dine there without a reservation. One guy was proclaiming his experience to the host and his family members, that H&V is the best buffet he's ever had and he's a very picky eater. We simply marveled at how different people's tastes/perception can be. The restaurant was fairly packed, so I'm sure many people enjoy it there as well.

No regrets though, as we had read mixed reviews going in and was prepared to handle disappointment. On the bright side, it was a restaurant that we hadn't experienced and we learned the lesson for ourselves to never go back there again.
