I just realized I asked this on probably the wrong board.

I booked H&V for dinner in April. I have 3 DSs plus a DH who does not mind the basics for dinner. My sons love meat, so after looking at the menu I figured we would give it a try. We have eaten at Sci Fi twice and Prime Time once. I did not want to do Mama or BD after seeing the menu choices and prices. I would like to stay in the park for dinner and like table service.
We already have ADR at Ohana, Biergarten, Liberty Tree and RainForest Cafe for our trip.

Any opinions would be appreciated.
:):):):)

I hated H&V dinner. It was by far the worst meal I have ever had at WDW. I think Ryan's has better tasting food. I personally would not waste a table service credit on this one unless you are doing the character breakfast.

the breakfast was pretty good :)

it is quite loud and peppy in there. kids will really enjoy it... but if you're not in to peppy in the morning, you may want to grab a coffee on the way, lol!!

we will probably return as it was nice to get into dhs before opening.

Whe H&V first opened, it was great. They had large roasting rotiserie ovens where they had ribs, roasts, chickens, etc all cooking. Food was great & one of my favorite places to eat on the property. The desert bar was even staffed if you wanted a milk shake, hot fudge sundae, etc.

Then it started going downhill.

We decide to try it once again on our last trip in October. Well, all I can say is we will try it again in another 3 or 4 years to see if it has improved. I would rather pay for a hamburger than eat there for free.

I wouldn't go back to H & V even if it was free for dinner. My expectations were in line for a buffet theme park restaurant and it was still terrible.
The food was not good, the hot food was not hot, the cold food was not cold. The food we tried did not taste good. The only thing we enjoyed was the soft serve ice cream.
Our waitress was RUDE (only time EVER at WDW). We were surrounded by dirty, unbused tables, it was loud in there. No drink refills. The Ladies Room was filthy. This is one of only 2 restaurants in all of WDW I will never set foot in again for dinner.

Couldn't have said it better. We tried it 2 times and same result. Our servers we not rude but not attentive. If you are on the DDP save a credit and eat QS then enjoy a 2 credit meal another night!

Well, DH and I don't have a choice for March. We wanted the Fantasmic package as we aren't going to line up 2-3 hours before Fantasmic just to get in. H&V was the only reservation we could get that offered the package. Maybe I'll call back closer to the time and see if there have been any cancellations at The Brown Derby or whatever the other restaurant was.
Are there any recient trippers who have anything good to say even a suggestion of something good on the buffet for dinner? Other than the soft serve ice cream :confused3

The mac n cheese on the kids side as long as you can get it while it is hot.
That is all I can come up with. Sorry. :sad1:

While it is not the greatest place to eat at Disney World, if you are doing it for the Fantasmic package it is not horrible. We haven't been there for a couple of years, but we all found something we would eat. Please keep in mind that you will find good and bad reviews of all the restaurants at Disney World. Sometimes you just need to try if for yourself.

Worst meal by far that I have ever had at WDW. Probably top 3 worst meals ever had in my life! Bad doesn't even begin to describe the food or the service!

I am in the minority. We have never had an issue on the couple times we have eaten there and the food was good when we were there. We always found something we liked to eat.:thumbsup2 We tried Mama M once and it was horrible when we were there. Food wasn't any better than H&V and the service was bad. Haven't tried the Brown Derby..
