Staying at GCV for the first time this summer (our first trip to Disneyland). Want to take a tour of Hollywood for one day. Anyone have suggestions of tours that leave right from Disneyland? Perhaps something a little less expensive that the Adventures by Disney? Thanks!

We did a LA/Hollywood tour with Grayline Tours. They pickup and drop off at GCH. It was a great tour, we loved the whole day! We went to Hollywood, the Grove and Farmers Markets, Santa Monica and a brief stop at Venice Beach.

I have this exact tour booked for August. But it says on their website that you have a choice of Venice Beach or Santa Monica. How do you choose which one you go to?

I too tho would recommend Gray Line tours. Simply because I have taken MANY from this company. They pick you up from your hotel, and drop you right back off at your hotel at the end of the excursion. It's amazing not to have to rent a car to get around when on Vacation, unless you plan to stop at other places.

It said or on our tour too, but the driver stopped at both. Not sure how we ended up on both, I think he asked everyone which they wanted and everyone wanted Santa Monica but he stopped at Venice too :confused3
The main stop was Santa Monica, we were there for an hour or so and Venice Beach was just a short stop, some stayed on the bus and everyone was back on the bus quite quickly, we were back in about 15 minutes. The driver had vanished, so he was back a while after all of the passengers were back on board ready to go.

Oh my gosh really? That would be so cool! That kinda sucks you were only at Venice Beach for like 15 minutes, it would be nice to have longer i'm sure. Oh well if I get to see it for even 15 minutes well I can just to say I was there. I can go back and check it out longer on another trip if I like the vibe of the place.

Gone online, Googled GrayLine tours in Anaheim. I got three results:
GrayLine City Tour & Hollywood Experience, Southern California Gray Line Tour (least information on website available) and All Anaheim Tours. All about the same price. Any suggestions or comments good or bad about any of these? All seem to pick up at the Grand California. Thanks for the suggestions and advice.

I dont know if this is a factor, but I wonder if some of those tour companies take smaller groups of people on a tour using smaller charter buses. I know Gray Line uses tour buses which hold up to like 30 or more people, and there has to be a minimum of 8 people on that bus in order for you to go on that excursion. If there are not enough people signed up, then you will have your money fully refunded, or you can book an excursion elsewhere.

Thanks for the responses. After discussions, realizing this is our first trip with our DD13 to Disneyland and CA, we're going to splurge on the Adventures by Disney tour. Hope it will be worth the money!
