Hollywood Studios with Star Wars or Universal with Harry Potter????

I wish Star Wars had more of the Storm troopers shows as well the spy Vi. Last time I went she was peeking the First orders show of force. So there is that. Plus Stormtroopers still funny. Disney is using Star Wars book to sell Galaxy Edge and the new hotel experience.

Also, if you have time my favorite non-Harry Potter attraction might just be the Jason Bourne stunt spectacular. It’s really quite good. Nothing like stunt shows you’ve seen in the past.

My family is going to Florida the week after Easter to visit my son and his wife who just moved there. Since we will be an hour away from Orlando, we wanted to do a park for one day. I know that is CRAZY, but it's all I can afford. We were at Disney in 2007 and we went to The Magic Kingdom in 2019. We have never been to Universal. So.... here is the problem. I have a grown man who is dying to go to Star Wars in Disney, but the rest of us (mom, teens and grown son) want to go to Harry Potter. I also have a 9 year old daughter.... WHAT TO DO???? Either way, we will have a blast. But, its only one day and we have to do what's going to be easiest. Plus have the little one. Help!!!!

My sister and family went recently and got a great deal with hotel on site, and theme park tickets with express passes included on both arrival and check out day. It was actually cheaper than just buying the tickets and express passes for everyone. I know you are just an hour away, but might be worth checking out.

Awesome! Thank you! I think we will do the HP and do both parks same day. I think it'll be worth it.

I think you made the right choice! I think HP lands outshines anything that Disney has ever done! It is so immersive and it is done right - no cheapening the lands. I could spend a whole day at each park and then some.
Even though we loved the first SW series, we were disappointed in the GE at disney. I really don't know why exactly. We walked right through it mostly. One and done.

Real Star Wars fans don't like Disney's Starwarsland because it isn't the original trilogy but that new mismash series.

The Harry Potter World is faithful to the books and movies.

Both Harry Potter lands and the Hogwarts express train! They beat anything disney has done IMO. We find SW land to be a disappointment, and I loved the first 3 movies. There is nothing like HPland. Universal spared no expense to make it as realistic as can be. You feel like you are in the movies when you step through the red brick entrance. It's amazing!

I'm sure if the HP areas were based On Fantastic Beast there would be Harry Potter Fans who would say. Where is Hogwarts?

If they were determined to set it during the sequel trilogy, then set it on a familiar planet and any differences between what is the in the park and what is the movie could be explained with "It's 40 years later and thing have changed." Fans (or maybe it's just me) expected something familiar and something we knew and loved. I didn't get that.

Universal was smart enough to know that fans wanted to see and interact with the places we knew and loved from the books/movies.

The thing about how the Harry Potter sections in Universal are, they are so detailed, there are so many little touches everywhere that even after having been there several times, I'm still finding new things.

This is honestly a tough decision for me as I love both lands and stories.

Remember with HP you need the park to park ticket. Some people forget this and it turns out they can’t get into one part of the land.

Either way, there is great food and a lot of fun. CMs and TMs at both lands have never given me an issue. I’m still finding new stuff each time!

Could you imagine if Universal didn't use the Harry Potter stuff but used Fantastic Beasts theming and characters for their parks. That's basically what Disney has done with their Starwarsland.
