Hollywood Studios to Epcot

I am so used to taking Disney trips with my friends and using Disney's transportation, but I'm going with my parents in 2 weeks and we decided to rent a car. We plan on spending our first day there at Hollywood Studios and then heading over to Epcot for an 8:25 dinner reservation at Akershus. Would you guys recommend driving to Epcot and parking there, or just take the boat over. Which do you think would be the fastest (if there's a difference) in order to maximize our time in HS b/c it is our only day we can go.

I would take the boat or walk. Walking will be the fastest.

Be careful with time though because the boats stop going to HS one hour after their closing hours. The boat will leave Epcot, but only go to the BC, BW, and Swan and then return back to Epcot. So if you leave Epcot more than an hour after HS closes you won't be able to take the boat to get back to HS to get your car in the lot there.
