Hollywood Studios to Epcot.....the walk

Frequently the distance and time of the walk between Epcot and Hollywood Studios comes up so on my trip last weekend I used my phone to track the walk.

I started tracking the walk from the bag check at HS and stopped it at the turnstiles of Epcot...As you can see, it was 1.12 miles and took us 21 minutes and 15 seconds at a leisurely pace.

Or the Boardwalk - then you are 10 minutes from both!

Oh, I forgot to mention in the OP, but there was a boat at the HS dock unloading as we were walking out. It passed us before we hit the bridge and by the time we hit the Boardwalk (near the Boardwalk Bakery), it was just leaving the Y&B Club and was nowhere in sight when we were entering the International Gateway. I assume it was still at the Boardwalk Dock.

Yes,the Friendship "usually" takes around 30 minutes from DHS to IG.

We started walking from Epcot to MGM a few years ago. It's a lovely walk, and especially nice in the mornings or early evenings. We go during the dog days of summer, and did "the walk" in mid-afternoon once this last trip and damn near died of the heat. The CMs in the Boardwalk Bakery couldn't get us water fast enough!!

Sorry if this has been mentioned but if you cut through the BW pool area and through the 'tunnel' to the main steps that come down from the BW lobby you save significant time. We're there a week from tomorrow.

This route/time/distance is cutting through the Clown Pool area.

Well.....that certainly doesn't sound like a very short walk at all. Comfortable shoes would be in order, I would suppose.

It seems the only time I stay in the Boardwalk area is when we do "adults only" trips, so I'm usually only walking to Epcot. I never realized the walk from the Swan/Dolphin to DHS was so short ! May have to treat the kids to a hotel stay next time around.

Thanks for the info! I'm forever wanting us to walk from EP to DHS or vice versa, but have continually been weary because my Gammy (she turns 80 next month) vacations with us, and every now and again has knee issues. The fact that it's only 1.2 miles means that we'll definitely give it a go when we're there later this month, and hopefully without incident as Gam has as much energy and stamina as my 4-year-old!

We loved the walk between the two. We stayed at the Boardwalk last time we went, and walked between the two all the time. I think we will be doing it all the time from now on. Even when not staying in that area. I think we used the boat twice. Once was when my step dad came to visit and once when it was pouring.
