Given we aren't huge fans of the food at Hollywood Studios, we are thinking of making a reservation at either Beaches and Cream at Beach Club or Trattoria al Forno on the Boardwalk for dinner, and then potentially going back to HS for Fantasmic. What's the best mode of transport and approximately how long will it take so we can time our dinner reservation? Thanks!

The trip by boat between DHS and the IG takes roughly 30 minutes where the Skyliner takes roughly 20 minutes (assuming zero wait time when transferring lines at CBR and no line stoppages).

If headed to the Boardwalk by boat, you can get off at the Swan/Dolphin and walk over which will reduce the travel time.

If you want less walking, I'd recommend the Friendship Boat. It you don't mind a little walking, we love the Skyliner.

I would leave at least 60 mins for transportation time just to be on the safe side.

We usually do the friendship boats if we want to save some steps.

Walking really isn’t that long but sometimes we just want to chill.

Walking is usually faster but if you are so dog tired you can't, I'd take the boat to Swan/Dolphin and walk from there. I tested the sky liner from HS to Epcot once and it took me 30 min. There was a line at CBR and it did stop for a few minutes while in the sky. Also, you might want to consider eating at The Fountain in the Dolphin, sort of like B&C with no ADRs needed but not all the hoopla. The other options at Swan/Dolphin are pretty good as well.

Well said and great advice. Well worth checking out the restaurants at Swan/Dolphin.

FYI the Friendship boats from DHS stop at the Swan/Dolphin, then Yacht & Beach, then BW, then Epcot IG. If you’re eating at Beaches & Cream, I’d ride to the Yacht & Beach dock. But if eating at Trattoria al Forno, you can disembark at Swan/Dolphin and walk, beating the boat to BW, or save your feet and ride about 10 extra minutes to the BW dock, which is next to Trattoria al Forno.
