OK! So HS is a must for our family but as everyone points out you can do it in a half day. I think it will be a full one for us. With teens loving Star Wars and the 2 year old loving Disney Junior.

Help!!! Loll the food is not good here for QS and so so for the TS. A must see will be the fireworks at HS but help me figure out what would be some better picks out of the park for either QS or TS. It would need to be close enough that the travel back and forth would not be horrible.

As of now I have 50's Prime Time in pencil for a TS dinner. If there is somewhere better I would love to hear it. Also QS? Maybe keeping breakfast open for an option?

This is an issue for me too:)
I am keeping breakfast open for in case they start Star Wars breakfast at sci fi again, lunch at 50s and leaving dinner for club villian in case that opens for my dates....
If no breakfast or dinner, I will try the brown derby lounge walk up... I don't like the QS at the studios, jmho:)

We will see how I go:)

For you maybe Disney junior
Breakfast at H&V? 50s I love for lunch/dinner:) grab a snack and head to fantasmic:)

Staring rolls is a good QS, but closes at 4

Have you thought about taking the boat over to the Boardwalk and surrounding resorts? There is good food to be had over there.

1. HS was most certainly a full day park for us for the last few trips we've taken - and we haven't even done everything!

2. I posted on another thread the other day, but the food isn't really terrible. It's not GREAT, but it's not the worst food ever made or anything. The places on Sunset Blvd each have at least one good thing on their menus and are close enough that it's not too much of a pain to separate and meet back up (especially with teens who can wait in line on their own).

Backlot express has chicken and Darth Vader waffles - who doesn't like Darth Vader waffles?!?!?!

I figure I can eat enough "good" food at the other parks that I don't mind a sub-par burger or chicken nuggets on my HS day.

We were under a full day last time, but we didn't quite hit everything either. I think heading to the Epcot resorts is a good option just to get a break and eat something good (10-15 minute boat ride or walk depending on how you feel). You could get a sit down, you could do something like Beaches and Cream for burgers, etc. When we went last time, Hollywood and Vine was empty at lunch (around 1130 or 12). I mean, like 10 tables. Food there is alright, and when it is that empty, the chaos factor is gone (3 year old loved getting to see and dance with the Disney Jr. Crew even though she met a lot of them earlier).

Starring Rolls is the better of the QS in HS however they close at 4PM so its really only an option for Breakfast or lunch.

The TS IMHO Hollywood Brown Derby is very good if not borderline excellent. IS it the best signature? No but it is still very good.

50's PT I think for a non-signature is very god as well and I have eaten there on my last 2 trips and loved it/

As far as Hollywood and Vine, I have eliminated it from my rotation. 1 DD is getting older and doesn't need Disney Jr anymore, however last year I was able to get into the Minnie's Holiday Dine at Hollywood and Vine and that dinner buffet was actually really good but I think that's the exception.

Also last year I tried the Sci Fi breakfast and honestly it wasn't that good I wouldn't do it again if they offered it

I'm glad to hear that! The reviews are so mixed on H&V ranging from hollywood and VILE to very good. I think the holiday dine is one of the better meals there, and I wanted to try it with my son. It was never on our list before!

The teens may enjoy Sci-Fi for dinner, if you've not been there before?

I wouldn't hold out hoping for a Star Wars breakfast, I don't think. They really only did those for SW Weekends, and the breakfast-no-characters trial over the holidays was not extended. It's pretty easy to get a PPO H&V. I'm just not sure there's the demand for another TS breakfast at HS that could be reliably filled daily.

If you are going before April 2, Studio Catering is not a bad QS, Rosie's All American has burgers for QS and Fairfax Faire has some ribs and such, Backlot Express isn't horrible. For TS Sci-fi would probably appeal to the teens and the little one would enjoy the movie clips the food is not bad. I love Brown Derby, give me a cobb salad and I'm a happy camper. For breakfast, there is Starbucks which has pastries and breakfast sandwich type things and Starring Rolls has pastries. As others have said, you can always hop a boat or walk to any of the Epcot resorts, QS isn't great at the Disney ones but I think Swan/Dolphin might have some place and there are loads of places to sit down and eat. I've spent all day at HS and never starved but I'm more of a decent breakfast, sort of snack on something like some fruit or pretzel or something for lunch and eat an early supper when I'm there.

Sci-Fi is one of our favorite restaurants! I loved 50s Primetime, too.

The QS options aren't great, but you can certainly find something at the ABC Commissary or the Backlot Express.

FYI, I don't understand the "HS is a half-day park" thing. It's certainly a full day for us. In fact, we have two days planned there this year.
