It is getting old.

Any rumors about repairing/replacing or is it likely permanent?

Anyone have an inside scoop?

PS I miss seeing the Chinese Theater and the largest hidden Mickey!

They hinted at the removal last year at the DHS anniversary. From what I hear it will be removed and moved to the new annimation hotel.

As I said there, the thing has got to go. I'd love to see it moved out to the plaza on the lake just outside the turnstiles.

I'm afraid it will stay, though, because if I'm not mistaken, the rights to the image of the Chinese Theater mess with their PhotoPass business -- Disney can't sell pictures that include the theater in the background, and the hat hides the theater quite effectively in the popular shots they always take down Hollywood Boulevard. They have a similar problem with the Brown Derby, I believe, and the PhotoPass photographers are not allowed to include the restaurant in their shots. Can anyone corroborate this?
