We’re thinking about going to HS with ds (3) tomorrow morning. We’ve never taken him before and don’t normally buy genie+ but I feel like we will for there so I’m a bit overwhelmed.

At 7 am we’ll book Slinky. Is there a good chance we’ll get a morning time for this? We don’t really want to stay at the park past 1 pm.

Then I’m wondering if we should head to MMRR or Toy Story land with early entry. I’m not even sure what our second genie+ ride would be. It makes me wonder if it’ll be a waste of money for the 3 of us to mostly just use it for slinky.

We’re also interested in meeting Olaf and Sully and possibly seeing the frozen show.

If it was me I would do Slinky during early entry and MMRR and TSM afterward and not worry about Genie+. Slinky gets late really quickly and there’s no guarantee you’ll get an early morning time for it.

How long of a wait is Slinky during early entry?

The Skyliner starts running at 7am so other than a few walkers from Boardwalk area 7am is the earliest most anyone else will be able to get there. That early morning crowd is then split between Rise and Slinky dog. When we were recently there, they let us in just a few minutes before early entry time at 8…maybe 7:50 or so. The crowd grows substantially between 7:15 and 7:30. I think most people think in their heads, “it opens at 8, we will get there around 7:30 to beat the rush.” So I think if you got there around 7:15 or so you would have about a 30ish minute wait for the park to open and then it should be close to walk on at Slinky Dog. We got there right at 7am (from CBR on Skyliner) and were in the first couple cars on Slinky. We got off the kids kind of wanted to do it again. The line was wrapped around the outside but that hadn’t yet opened all the que and the lady said probably 20 minutes or so. It goes so fast without the LL during early entry. We opted for Falcon so I don’t know how accurate it was.

A different morning we rope dropped Rise but it was down. So we rode Falcon and then went back to the front and caught MMRR at about 8:20 or so and it was listed at 25 min but it was a walkon!

I would skip the Genie. Rope drop Slinky and then do Mania or MMRR, you might have a short wait for one or the other but I wouldn’t think more than 20-25 min at most. I would think you could be done with those 3 rides by 9 am if you got there early enough for Early entry.

The only reason I would consider Genie, is if you thought he might want to re-ride something after a mid day break. But I would still have a good rope drop plan.

Thanks for your input! I’m not sure if we’ll make it there by 7:15 lol. We all woke up at 7:20 this morning. I guess we’ll see how well we sleep tonight to determine if we can make it there that early

I completely get it! That’s why I mentioned that after our first ride on Slinky, if we wanted to ride again it might have only been a 20-25 min wait so if you got there later and still went there first, you might be just have longer waits at the other 2 rides!

You probably already checked it out, but is your 3 year old tall enough for Slinky Dog?

We ended up not going but yes he’s tall enough. It’s the same height as 7 dwarfs and he rode that a couple weeks ago
