We are going to WDW May 11th through the 17th 2016 One of our days was a Hollywood Studios day. Been to SWW and not sure if they will even have that this May but since we did that in a previous year we planned on going to Hollywood Studio on a Monday in hopes it would be less crowded. Just wondering with all the closings and construction will this be a half day park in May of 2016? Hoping they will still have Fantasmic then if not we may consider another Disney park instead.

If only interested in rides, it is currently a half-day park IMO--there are only 5 of them after all. If you are also interested in shows, you could spend a day there. Next year, who knows since there have been no schedules announced....

Not even 1/2 a day for us with all that's been removed :(

Agree with above poster. If you only enjoy the rides, then it is a half day. If you enjoy the shows, it takes an entire day still- partly because the rides are more busy than normal. If you enjoy the Indiana Jones Stunt Show and the Lights Motors Action show, and they are still there, I would make those a priority. Nothing has been confirmed but both are rumored to be closing to make way for the new lands. We hope not as we love those attractions, especially LMA.

They will still have fantasmic . Disney needs something in that park that draws a lot of people while they are under construction. Fantasmic is a huge draw for that park . No worries

If you only want to ride everything once then HS is definitely a half day park. If your getting there for RD id suggest hitting TSM first and then head to the end of sunset Blvd to hit ToT and RnR then you could do the GMR and lastly Star Tours. By then I think that's all that should be open if I'm not forgetting anything.

Yes, a half day park, and barely that as we never eat there.

Depends on if your kids like the character M&Gs that are there and if you want to see shows... the Disney Junior characters are only found at HS... our morning went like this: M&G with Buzz & Woody, Sofia, Jake, Mike & Sully, photo op with Mcqueen & Mater, Frozen show before we even hit ToT, RnR and TSMM. Then we also stopped to see the Incredibles (no longer there). Lights Motors Action took a lot of time as well. We definitely spent a full park day (until around 6 pm) and still missed Beauty and the Beast, the Little Mermaid and the Disney Jr show this time (but we did see them last time). This was in the middle of January with low crowds. I think it depends what age your kids are and what your interests are.

It just depends on what you want to see/do there. If you want to see all of the shows and ride all the rides then you can make a full day out of it. For us, it's a half day- we see The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, and Frozen. And, we ride TSMM, Star Tours, and TOT. We don't eat there so we can easily leave by 2pm.

If you want to see several shows then it is still a full day park.
If you are there just to ride the 5 rides (even several times), then yes . half day and then hop over to Epcot.

No idea what will be closing coming up as they begin construction for the new lands. You have to figure that SOME things will be closing without replacement attractions. B

I didn't realize so much was closed. What's shut down?
Backlot tour
American Idol experience
Legend of Jack Sparrow
Magic of Disney Animation (including the much loved animation academy)
Mulch Sweat and Shears

hoping to go to Downtown Disney for lunch then head over to HS by 2:00pm. Would like to see Beauty and the Beast, the Frozen sing along, Indiana Jones, ride RnR, TOT, and if open and have time TSMM plus catch the 8:00pm Fantasmic show. So do you think that is doable?

If you have FP for TSM and TOT, possibly. You would need to check the show schedules to ensure the times would work out- before making FP reservations. Plan on being at Fantasmic just after 7 if you want seated towards the middle, or 740 if you don't care what seats you have.

Thank you that is helpful!!!

I agree that it depends on what you want to do while you are there. We tend to go twice and stay until late afternoon each time. WHen my DGD was younger we spend the better parrt of a day just seeking out characters for her autograph books, and then had to manage to squeeze in the shows. The "rides" were secondary for us. I must say that DHS used to be my favorite park for shopping, but not so much any longer.
