Hollywood Restaurants

Does anyone have any good recommendations for a casual restaurant in Hollywood? Last time we did this I was looking for a real "California" experience and by the name chose California Pizza Kitchen...not realizing those are all over, including right here in MA.

I should add we are partial to Italian food and don't like anything real funky. We will be just exploring all day so will probably be wearing jeans and nothing dressy.

I have done some research and came up with a possibility, but I would like to see what others think. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Miceli's is a classic joint in Hollywood......I'm not sure if they're open for lunch, but at dinner it's real casual, sometimes the waiters break out in song (opera anyone?), you can sometimes find a coupon for the place on restaurant.com

Mel's Diner is a mini-chain in California, not bad at all...........and In n Out Burger is a must-try if you didn't try it last time!

What about Mario Batali's restaurant, Pizzeria Mozza? It's the casual version of Osteria Mozza.

You can't beat Musso & Franks for classic Hollywood. At night it's not a jeans place, but anytime before 6 an you'll be in like company. It's expensive, but a great "old Hollywood" landmark with excellent food and service.

For great burgers try Lucky Devils on Hollywood Blvd.

A great casual diner is north of the boulevard on Vine and Franklin. The 101 Coffee Shop. Great selection and not too expensive.

Another fairly good Italian place is at the west end of the boulevard on La Brea. Raffallo's. Not as good as Miceli's, but very nice.

I think I'm the only person on the planet that did not care for In N Out Burger.
