How long do you usually wait to get seated for dinner? Also, how long should we plan dinner to last? I'm trying to figure out what time we need to make an ADR for to make it to an 8:30 Fantasmic. We want to eat as late as possible. We haven't eaten there in a few years, so I'm hoping those of you with recent experiences can help us out. :)

I would go with a 5:00 pm ADR. Time to eat, normally sat right away or within 10 minutes. Then we usually go through the shops grab candy apples, snacks for our show. This plan has always worked for us :thumbsup2

Service at Brown Derby is more leisurely than at some other restaurants, so give yourself plenty of time, at least 1.5 hours dining time. You want to be at the reserved seating area for Fantasmic at least 30 minutes before the show. The entrance is near the front of the park and it takes a few minutes to walk to the ampitheater.

I was seated within 5 minutes of checking in last month and dinner itself was somewhere between an hour and 90 minutes

Thanks for the info. :) Actually, we weren't planning to do the FDP this time. I thought the dining times they set aside for the package were early & we'd like to eat as late as possible. Do you think it's absolutely necessary to book the package for the 1st week of May? If not, what time should we plan to be in the standby line? That will help me know what time to book. Thanks again for your advice.
