This is my first post! Yay! I was wondering about eating at the Brown Derby with a toddler, we would like to take our daughter, who will be 4 at the time. Is she too young for this resturant? Will we be out of place with a small child? Also, does this resturant observe a dress code?

First of all, you will find that Disney is super kid friendly. There are only a few restaurants that are not and they aren't found in the theme parks.

Second, have you checked out the Brown Derby menu? My son is a really picky eater and there wasn't anything on the menu he would enjoy so we skip this particular restaurant. You can find the menu (as well as prices) at www.allearsnet.com. Click on Dining. Scroll down to Menus. Click there and you'll find menus to all the Disney restaurants.

The first time we took DS he was 4. And he did great, its cool (temp wise) & kinda quiet. It was a great place to bring he down from the Disney, "high" we do quite a few "fancier" places with the kids, it mellows them out a bit. The staff has always been very nice to the kids. If you check out the kids menu at www.allearsnet.com you will see that it pretty much the same as most places.

First of all Welcome!:wave2:
Brown Derby is great with or without kids... as the other poster said the temp. can be a little cool for little ones so you might want to have a jacket or sweatshirt with you.
.......They are very sweet with sides of food for little ones and extra plates to share what you have ordered.

Brown Derby also has outdoor seating, if that appeals to you. No worries about quiet, "adult" atmosphere out there, lol. Though it's also fine to take kids inside, of course.

We thought the Brown Derby has a lot to offer for the kids menu. I wish more of the disney TS had as many choices for kids as the BD. My kids can't wait for the chicken noodle soup, grilled cheese, hot dog, grilled chicken, and "fish sticks". Not to mention the oreo cookie dessert!! We are really looking forward to this meal!!! Go with your child and have a great meal!!!

Welcome to the restaurants board!
Your daughter will be just fine at BD. And there is no dress code. Virtually everyone will be in "theme park casual".

Yes it will be fine, it gets cool in there even for us adults. The cobb salad is out of this world. I don't remember it being real quiet, it wasn't a loud place. I was very comfortable there in my shorts and theme park attire. Welcome to the Boards!:)
