Hi all - we have ADRs for dinner at 4:45. Can we request the lounge when we arrive?

Interesting question. The lounge does not take reservations so if that is where you want to eat why not cancel the restaurant's ADR? The last 2 or 3 times we ate at the lounge we were able to order from both menus.

I don't know the answer for Hollywood Brown Derby, but there are several restaurants in my city that do not take reservations for their patio. You can make a reservation, then ask to be seated on the patio. If the wait is too long, you have the option of just eating inside based on your reservation. There would probably be no harm in asking when you get there - my experience with Disney is that they can be very flexible and accommodating.

HBDs reservation system between the dining room and lounge are not connected. If there is ever a wait at the Lounge it’s via names on a piece of paper, at least in my experience. They may let you show up and use the ADR on the lounge if you ask the right CM but I wouldn’t risk it and just cancel. l would do a walk up to the lounge incase they don’t honor the ADR and try to charge you for a missed reservation.

I believe they are completely separate.
The lounge has its own outside entrance.
If you go to the lounge near opening time, we have never had any trouble getting a table. Mid afternoon also has not been a problem.

Your experience mirrors ours although I won't know until December if SWGE has changed things around. We normally go mid afternoon since that's our normal meal time.
