hollywood at oscar time

What's it like, crowd wise, around Hollywood the week leading up to the oscars. We are going the week before and were hoping to do some tours etc. It's also Reading Week/Presidents Weekend

On Hollywood Blvd. in front of the theater you'll see the bleachers, the red carpet the huge Oscar statues and even some of the cameras and TV equipment.

All the usual tours will be going on.

Do you feel that the area is 'extra' busy the week before?
We bought the Hollywood city passes which includes the Home tour, the walking tour and a tour of the Kodiak theatre. I don't know if we should be booking them ahead of time...or even if you can book ahead. Do you know if the Kodiak even has tours that week before.
