We have an ADR for lunch. I am unsure, I hear the food is eh? My DS is 2 and loves Leo, Jo Jo, and Goliath. So this was more for the experience. My DD is 9, so this is not really for her. We are also doing the Garden Grill character meal, so I am wondering if I should cancel Hollywood and Vine and do Brown Derby for lunch, or do a counter service and pick a table service for dinner? Help!

Hollywood and Vine is fun and it's also very loud. It's a buffet - so the food is so so - but it's still good. Brown Derby is fun too - but it's not very kid friendly. Another DHS alternate is Sci-Fi or Prime Time - both are great!

I would do H&V and GG on this trip. Save Brown Derby for when the kids are a bit older.

We've had two bad experiences at H&V which will make us not return. However, if your daughter is really into the characters, I would go. We've only done Brown Derby once and were not impressed. We keep talking about giving it another try, but we don't want to use two table service credits for it.

We went to H&V for our nieces and nephew and had a blast!
The characters were great. Leo and Goliath were paying attn to everyone on the table, even when most of them were adults... :)

We thought the food was actually pretty good for a buffet. It's not as great as CP but way better than 1900 park fare. We'd definitely go back.

As far as BD, I've gone there twice and unfortunately both times I was very underwhelmed.

So if it's between those 2 I'd definitely pick H&V. :)

Good luck!

We like Hollywood & Vine and would go back again. We have been to Brown Derby twice, both times before we had kids. I don't think it is a place where the kids will have fun.

H&V is the one meal that will truly be for the 2yo. I think big sis will get a kick of watching DS 2 shake his booty and react to the characters. I understand they have extra CMs at this meal so the tots get plenty of TLC. DD9 will likely get drawn into dancing with DS2 resulting in priceless footage for you, go while you still have a chance, DD is still a Disney kid ($) and DS is free!

As for the food read the reviews carefully. Many are for dinner, whick we enjoyed. I just cancelled our Labor Day trip, so I'm missing out on this lunch, but hope we can do it before Dnephew is too cool to enjoy. He absolutely love the PHD dance party at DHS last summer.
