Hollywood and Vine reviews?

We ate breakfast there a year ago & thought it was awesome. Never eaten there for lunch or dinner.

I just really wish they'd change the characters now. Our kids are too big for Playhouse Disney so we didn't eat there on our recent trip last month.

I would LOVE to see them change it to Phineas & Ferb...Candace would be a hoot...where's Perry?!!

Or even some face characters for the older crowd from HSM would be awesome too...Hannah Montana...Zack & Cody...time for an update!

We ate at H&V for a dinner last year and enjoyed it. The CMs were pleasant and inobtruisive (not coming by every five minutes to ask how things are doing or ignoring us until its time to cash out). The entree variety was good with what I thought was a good mix of familiar and new (new to me) dishes. I do appreciate the small dessert portions that WDW sets out at their buffets. It's nice to be able to sample them all instead of having to slog through a full-sized portion.

There does need to be some kind of traffic control or dessert station police, though. The kiddos mobbing the soft-serve area were a bit much.

My parents and I had dinner there on Thursday night. We did not have advanced dining reservations when we arrived at the park. When we checked with dining availability inside they said there were no reservations available. We walked by H &V around lunchtime and asked and they said 5:35 was available. The restaurant was extremely busy, loud, and chaotic. The food was pretty good, but the service left a lot to be desired. Our waitress was friendly, but clearly very frazzled. We waited about 15 minutes before she came to the table and took our drink orders. We barely saw her the rest of the evening. She refilled our drinks once, but most of the time they were empty. Dishes piled up at our table. There as a huge line for the buffet when we arrived, but it seemed to quiet down later on. I can't imagine how much louder and crazier the place is when there are characters there. Our waitress took over 20 minutes to return with our check after we gave her the credit card. We would dine there again if we were not in a hurry to be anywhere and were not looking for a relaxing experience.

We were there in Feb 2008. We had the first lunch seating so the breakfast food was still out. Getting to take a crack at both the breakfast and lunch food was nice, although I can't say it was memorable.

Our server was less magical than the ones at other places.

We have 2 small kids so characters were nice.

On a scale of 1-10:

Food - 5.5
Service - 4
Character Experience - 6

I will return there someday, but elected not to on upcoming trip so that we can try some other things.

I've eaten there around four times(when DS was younger buffets were better for him)..each time I was there I thought the same thing: YUCK! I will not go back again.

Hollywood and Vine reveiw..... I will make it nice and short. I really enjoyed it along with my husband and 3 kids. They had basic foods/ soups/ salads ect and really yummy dessert! I totally recommend going there!

I've never been there, but it's interesting to read this thread. Despite the negative remarks, I think there are more positive comments about H&V in this one thread than in the past 5 years. Any chance that it's starting to improve?:confused3

So Disuser (OP),

As I kinda expected... mixed reviews, some love it, some hated it, some people neither loved it or hated it. Now you have to decide if you want to try it or not.

Your thoughts?
Let us know how you made out.

well.....I am going to keep the reservation and hope for the best. I will warn those with us (my son and his family) that this is an iffy restaurant. Then I will be back on this board sometime in the future telling someone else what we thought of it
