Just read a nasty thread about Hollywood and Vine, and the Fantasmic package. Can anyone else share their experence. We have a PS for here and don't want to base our decision on one persons thoughts. Thanks for any help.

I'm going there for PS fantasmic package on 9/11. What did you hear?

I had heard good things about this, except some people were upset about no more character dining there.

Now I'm starting to get nervous.

I saw a post that said the food was awful and they got to Fantasmic 45 minutes early to find standing room only for the reserved area.

If it makes you feel better, we had a great meal at Hollywood and Vine and no wait at all for the Fantasmic show at the reserved seats!

I just did the package at H&V on Monday, Aug 4. My PS was at 6:00, and we were seated at 6:05. I thought the food was quite good for a buffet. I enjoyed the good selection of salads, and nicely prepared roast. DH was really happy with the red velvet cake. He is a red velvet cake authority and would not be happy with a bad one. As for DS8 and DD5, all their food fantasy became reality with the all you can eat mac&c, meat balls, and soft serve with a vast selection of toppings. Actually the meat balls in the kids' buffet section was good enough for grown-ups.

After the meal, we did a few more attractions, and showed up at the entrance at 8:20. We found a plenty of empty seat in the dinner package patron section. Although the section is at the right end of the stadium, the view was excellent. Another perk of this section is that it allows a quick exiting afterward. We are a family of slow walkers, and we still made it to the resort bus stop within 10 minutes or so.

Thanks for the last 2 replies. That reasures me enough that I won't change our reservations. We leave for WDW Aug 25.

I had booked a H&V package a couple of weeks ago for early Oct--glad to hear the favorable reviews.

Of all the descriptions I've read for some time now there's only been one complaint that there weren't any seats available. From what I've read you HAVE to be there at least 30 minutes prior to the show; that's much better than the hour-plus-wait alternative :)

The meal we had at Hollywood and Vine was great! I guess any restaurant can have its good and bad days, but we never had any problem with our meal there.
