I am a TA booking ADR's for my Clients. They want to do Fantasmic..and are leaving the dining venue to me. I am not crazy about either of their choices. Help?

Also..they are a party of 6. For most meals, they want to split up, avoiding the 18% gratuity charge. I imagine this is acceptable if I book them as 3 and 3 or 4 and 2?

Thanks!:thumbsup2

If it were me, I'd choose Brown Derby (OOP, don't use DDP credits) :thumbsup2 Of the two choices you gave, I'd pick Mama Melrose. It's good restaurant, similar to an Olive Garden. H&V is the only Disney restaurant that I will never go back to, so I certainly can't recommend that.

As for splitting the group up, do they understand that they will not be seated together and could/most likely will have different seating times? Then if they push the host/hostess to seat them together, they'll be back to a party of 6. Seems like an awful lot of hassle to avoid paying the automatic gratuity that they'll most likely (voluntarily) pay anyways :confused3

I thought Mama Melrose over H&V too..but I have just spent ages with the CM at Disney and it seems that Fantasmic tables are not yet 'defined' for their dates in May so I will call back tomorrow and the next day etc...

Brown Derby taking 2 table service redemption isn't really an option as they are already doing 'Spirit of Aloha' at the Poly and Cinderella's breakfast which also take 2 soooo they are preferring at this point to not use any more.

Thanks for your thoughts tho--haven't done H&V in years and I imagine last time must not have been great for me or I would have!!:confused3

They want the Sci-Fi in as well..any thoughts there? Again, myself not crazy on that one either!

That's the problem, I am putting my slant on it!;)

Oh and yes, they know they won't sit together. I managed to book a couple seperately at the same time and that is fine with them. It's a big trip for them and money isn't flowing for them so I guess they are nipping and tucking where they can!:thumbsup2

Let's just say that after two visits (we should have learned after the first visit) that you could NOT pay us to eat at H&V ever again.

MM is much better for Fantasmic....and you get appetizers even on the regular dining plan with the Fantasmic package. H & V was just nasty old buffet food---like a glorifed Golden Corral!

I agree, we tried H&V once, never again. We have done the MM Fantsamic package twice and really enjoyed it. My teenage DDs ask to go there now.
