We're thinking of booking for the fantasmic package here. We would appreciate any opinions of this restaurant.

Thanks

KAC,

I also booked a Fantasmic Package at Hollywood and Vine, it ended up raining and lightining so both shows were cancelled. Our group consisted of myself(21), Jon-my boyfriend(21), and my little sister Shelby(14). Out of the three of us Jon is definately the most adventourous diner so he ended up liking this restaurant more than Shelby and I did. :D The food was good but not what I was expecting from a buffet. I don't know if this makes sense or not but the food on this buffet just seemed a bit more fancy and advanced than most buffet food. :smooth: The kid's selections were the usual mac and cheese, chicken nuggets, and such and thank goodness because that's basically what Shelby and I ended up eating. Would we go back? Probably, but it's not on my list of immediate to do's :flower:

Hope that helps!

I have eaten there twice. It is a pretty good buffet and the cheapest Fantasmic package dinner. We did the package last May with H&V. I can always find enough food to fill me up on that buffet. I sometimes find myself at the kids buffet getting mac and cheese.

I haven't tried Mama Melrose, but that is on my list for the next package. I love italian.

I have eaten at Brown Derby, but wouldn't want to spend that money when I have two other options.

We did the FDP at H&V, and if we do the FDP again we'll go there again. I thought the buffet was great. There was much more selection than I expected, and everything we tried was delicious. :D

We had the fant dinner package here last oct.

We choose this restaurant for the variety of food that wdw dine had explained. When we arrived, there was no one disappointed, no adults or kids, everyone happy :D I definitely be going back again. They had everything from bread, salads, seafood, pork, great steak, chicken, lots of veggies to choose from, and sides. Great dessert here for the adults. They have the minatures so ya didn't feel guilty!! Kids have the ice cream and toppings. A crowd pleaser.

Definitely recommend and I will be going back on my next trip!!

We ate at H&V in October as part of the Fantasmic Package. We have a two DSs (4 and 1). We found the H&V to not only be the best option with little children, but also my DH and I were very pleased with the quality and selection of food. We are making this restaurant and the Fantasmic package a family tradition. It also doesn't hurt that this is the cheapest of the 3 restaurants listed for the Fantasmic Package. :earboy2:

I ate here for the first time in December. I thought it was WONDERFUL. The selection is not only huge, but also very different from the standard fare you'll find on every other buffet. Seems a touch more gourmet and upscale. I wanted to try everything but there was just too much!

We did the H&V as part of the Fantasmic package on New Years Eve and I thought it was really good. I have 2 daughters 17 & 20 and we all found plenty that we enjoyed. I had gone there once before when it was still a character meal and I didn't remember the food being as good. My 20 year old is a fairly picky eater but there was enough to satisfy her especially with the ice cream bar. It was great to walk right into the Fantasmic show.

We had Thanksgiving dinner there in 2004, and even on a holiday the service was very good, food was hot and plentiful and food serving line moved quickly. I found the food to excellent gourmet quality on a buffet is rare, highly recommend this restaurant... :cool1:

Another thumbs up. My DD11 and 1 did the Fantasmic package and I was VERY surprised by the buffet. It was really tasty! Plenty of food. The pasta sauce was awesome. I haven't had a pasta so tasty in a while. My daughter LOVED the dessert area mixing stuff there. We are going back in March and already have our PS done to go back there.

Im going against the grain here

we booked the FP last may

I found it overpriced and disappointing (to add to the disappointment, the show was rained out in the middle of it)

I also was there in May 2004. I had planned the evening for a party of 10. Everyone in the group except for my 4 can be really picky and critical at times. Everyone was happy with the choice and thought the food was great. The kids ages 1 - 8 were happy and content through the meal. Fantasmic was rained out that night which was a disapointment, but I would go to H&V again without a question!
