Can someone give me some info on the H&V Fantasmic package? We will be on the DDP, but I would like to know what types of foods are on this buffet adn what are some of your favorites? Also, any info about the atmosphere would be great! I'm having some trouble with pics today so any descriptions will help me make my choice.

We did Mama Melrose last year and didn't love it so wanted to try something new. :goodvibes

Thanks!

We did hollywood and Vine, last August and thought it was pretty decent. It reminded me of a huge diner, disneyfied. I will say it was a bit noisey the night we went. I saw a roast beef (not sure of the cut) and various types of chicken. They also had a salmon dish but I did not try this. They had cold peel and eat shrimp with cocktail sauce. Various vegetables (string beans, carrots, etc) and lots of pasta disnes. Overall a good variety. Some dishes I felt could stand to have been a little hotter but that is a general problem I think at all buffets. Service was good, our server was pleasant but not memorable but she was efficient and kept our drinks full.

We did this last Thursday the 23rd. It was okay. We both liked the food better than the buffet food at Crystal Palace. I really liked the peel and eat shrimp, and DH loved the creamed corn bread--he asked me to find a similar recipe to make for him! There was a nice selection of salads and I loved the soft serve sundae dessert. Personally, we wouldn't do the dinner package again, we'd just go to Fantasmic on a night when there are 2 shows and do the later one-and have dinner at the Sci-Fi which we loved. However, we don't have kids, so doing the later Fantasmic show is not a problem for us. Hope you enjoy it!

Thanks for the input!

We actually LOVED the food at Crystal Palace last year so it sounds like H&V may be a good choice for us. We also want to do Sci-Fi, but we love MGM so much we will go for 2 days and not worry about doing Fantasmic on the Sci-Fi night. Actually, I don't recall 2 shows being offered when we went, but I bet that was due to it being October and a bit off-season. I may be remembering wrong. :confused3

Is the 2nd show a lot easier to get good seating for? I had heard that was a possibility.

Truthfully, my husband and I did not like H&V at all. The first time we ate there it was just okay. Last year, we thought it was terrible. They kept running out of food and taking forever to replace it, some food was cold, it took forever for them to seat us and it was no where near filled (it was more than half empty) and the service for drinks was terrible. But it could have just been an exceptionally bad night...but we wouldn't go back.

this was just like our experience twice now, unfortunately Cold mushy pasta ... ugh. one of only 2 wdw restaurants we won't return to. (dinner. breakfast was an improvement)

We ate there fri 8/24 for dinner. We thought it was pretty good. We did the fantasmic pkg, but during dinner a huge storm came through. Lots of lightening. Fantasmic was cancelled. I got a rain check from guest services and was able to return the next night for the reserved seating. We never did though. We ended up a MK. It stormed again anyway. Oh well. Good thing we could view fantasmic from our room at the dolphin.

We thought the food was pretty good. Typical buffet food. I enjoyed the snickers cheesecake dessert. We also enjoyed the Cream corn. I believe they called it spoon bread.

It was very noisy, but it didn't bother us.

That creamed corn spoon bread is delicious! I have had it at other buffet's, but none have ever tasted as good as H&V.
