decided to give h&v character breakfast at 8.15 a try (park opens at 9). staying at beach club.

is it any good? we usually just have cereal in our room for breakfast. we ve done chef mickeys once for breakfast but with it being that bit further i dont fancy trying to get a 3 and 6 year too early (or have too much pressure to get up)

i assume i all the buffet breakfasts are identical just different characters

The buffet breakfasts are similar. You get the usual bacon, sausage, eggs, etc, then each seems to have some items a little more in line with the theme. I have never had a bad buffet breakfast at WDW and I believe I've been to all of them. Enjoy!

Planning on doing this with my grandkids due to Disney Jr. Characters, how is the interaction there?

If your going to Hollywood & Vine for breakfast your really going for the characters and the character interaction is 1st rate. You would think no one could mess up eggs in a buffer but H&V can and will. The food is not good.

When we went it was ok. It was a huge advantage in we were able to sign up for JTA before breakfast with no wait. We met Disney Jr. characters. Overall the entire breakfast was slow. I am pretty sure that even being a buffet, it took over an hour to eat and see the characters and therefore you could easily be behind rope drop crowd if you want to meet all the characters. It took a while to be seated. It was crowded and it took a while for the characters to make it around the restaurant (I think non-face characters are just slower to travel around a crowded restaurant.)

The food was average. The setting was blah. Fairly loud, close tables, crowded, and cafeteria like in appearance. Since my daughter is no longer into Sophia, I cannot see doing this again however it was not horrible either. The advantage with regard to JTA cannot be understated. We walked right up to the JTA table, signed up and were given an extra fast pass for our "trouble" (not sure if they do that anymore). If you can get value out of JTA and Disney Jr. Characters, it is a lot easier to overlook the lack of speed, blah atmosphere, and average food.

Its one of my favorites! TONS of options. Kids can get up and dance with Jake and other characters. Its a great place for breakfast.

Characters are Jake, Doc McStuffins, Sophia the First and Handy Manny

Is this still the character lineup? I thought I read somewhere that goofy was replacing handy manny but I might be thinking of something else. Thinking about this for our next trip before our oldest completely outgrows the Disney Jr characters.

Goofy in his Roadster Racers outfit has replaced Handy Manny. We saw him a few weeks ago.

As far as H&V goes it is an average character breakfast that has a few advantages. If you want a Fantasmic! dining package, PPO to get to JTA sign ups, or have kids that really love the characters.

The food is fine; nothing has been bad in our experience, but nothing is great either. I much prefer the food at Cape May Cafe which is located right in the BC, but if you’re looking for one of the advantages I listed above H&V is the way to go.

We just did Cape May Cafe for the first time and it was fantastic. The food was good and the characters were great. Our next trip (like all of our trips unfortunately) will be short so I want to minimize the time we spend traveling around WDW. We’ll probably be staying at PVB so it’s coming down to Ohana or H&V for our character breakfast. I’m leaning towards H&V mostly because of the characters.
